I was just about to go ahead with my quote when I asked to confirm what security they had me down for. The lady said I was listed as having "suzuki security system 1" and I said "it's got a steering lock but no alarm or other standard security - so whether that constitutes a security system or not I'll have to check"

She seemed happy enough to stick it down as correct but I'm not sure - any ideas? I do have an oxford monster chain and padlock & oxford disklok.

I got mine fitted with an immobiliser mainly because all of the insurers I spoke to said that a "standard" (no idea that their definition of this is, but mine was one) bike without a 3rd party alarm/immob was considered as a "none"

Who's the insurer?

it'll be red star equity arranged by motorcycle direct. 22 years old, no points, 1 years ncb, york postcode, licence for 1 year, oxford monster chain and disklok (but no alarm or imob) ?275 fully comp. I'll give em a ring when I get back from working away.

same here @ Ignition key - so I should declare "no alarm or immobiliser" then :( wierd how they had me down as having "Suzuki category 1 security"... just wondered what exactly what they list it as

Could be Alphadot which is included with new Suzukis.

Standard Suzuki security consists of a steering lock and Alphadot, anything else is an optional extra (Suzuki's plug in META alarm for Pointy's) or aftermarket extra.
