Fantastic photo's

Bit of info on the techniques you used would be interesting to, if you dont mind.

The technique is called HDR, its easy to overuse and i think im just on the border, if i had done more shots that way then it would have been overdone.

thanks guys :D

Do you shoot RAW for HDR and post process for exposure, or bracket when shooting? I've not had much luck with adjusting EV of RAWs to produce the HDR.

Can you do HDR with a basic digi cam? (I just checked on wiki what HDR is) Would love to take some of my bike like that!

yes you can do it with a basic digi cam, just quality of the hdr might be an issue.

i shoot in raw and processed it then HDR'd it lol and bracketed, some are up to 11shots merged.

i have just been offered a black 350z to shoot that has been in a few magazines and my flights to london will be paid for :D

I'm with Mike, the photography's great.

Wheels look ghey though, but I guess you're only paid to take pics, there's no accounting for (lack of) taste.

Not really - only if you can shoot RAW not jpg. Some internal processing is done when saving as jpg and this compromises the values saved to disk.

Nice work...

As for the car....
Here's an "after" photo taken near Deals Gap in North Carolina, USA

(The driver was OK BTW...after being thrown from the car mid-crash)
Maybe he should have got a sportbike??? :smt102
Or not.

I love the 350, and love the magic you've done on those photos, makes the backdrop look... amazing. I keep meaning to try this with my camera as I can capture raw, but then the car gets dirty and I at the same time get lazy.

Am really liking the 350Z... muscular shape without the well heeled european badges.

Did it take a lot of playing about to get good results with HDR? IT's one of those things I've been meaning to do for aaages!

ScottishRawker
28-05-08, 05:15 PM
my first HDR's took lots of playing around but by this time it was easy :D(ish) its hard to try and not over do it!

overdid it on the HDR. Its like the 'loud chavvy exhaust' of photography.(the technique, not your pics)

Imo.

What cam were you using?

How did you get the effect of engine in the last pic?

ScottishRawker
28-05-08, 11:59 PM
the effect with the engine was done in photoshop using multiple pictures.

i was using my canon 30D
