Yes mate you can get mirror extenders from Chewys;
see here (http://www.chewys-stuff.co.uk/mirror_spacers/9902sv-mirror_spacers.htm) for '99-'02 Curvy SV's
See here (http://www.chewys-stuff.co.uk/mirror_spacers/k3sv-mirror_spacers.htm) for '03-'08 Pointy SV's
and see here (http://www.chewys-stuff.co.uk/) for Chewy's home page.

26mm doesnt sound a lot but do they really work that good ? it seems like it needs more than 26mm when your riding lol

You might want to try pushing the mirror stalk as far forward on its mount as it'll go and then angling the mirrors themselves to see behind you. Seemed to give a bit more rearward vision and less elbows when I did that on my GSXR and the mirrors are similar in construction to the pointy mirrors.
But yep as others have said extenders are the best way to fix it.

The important thing is that it's an extra 26mm.
Mine now measures nearly 12 inches, when sticking straight out, thanks to cheweys extenders.
Surely 12 inches is enough for good riding, or am I missing out on all the action behind?

:shock:
+3 for the extenders - I couldn't get them into a position where I could see less than 2 inches of my arm without them, and I've now got it set just so.

Depends whether it is a Pointy or a Curvey :smt047
