Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and I already think it's great!

Lots of great people with their experience, knowledge and stories here!

I'm quite new to the SVs as well, just recently got a SV650S and I'm looking forward to taking it out and getting to know it ^^

It's prob a really stupid question...
but I was just wondering, as I've seen on a few posts,
What do you mean by "pointy" and "curvy"...?

I'm looking forward to speaking to all of you at some point!
And... yea, HAVE FUN & RIDE SAFE! :D

Croeso!

Curvy = 99-02 model, carbed, curvaceous bodywork and tubular frame. (and the best model :smt027)

Pointy = 03 on, fuel injected, pointy bodywork and frame.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! :)
I'm down south in Bournemouth, tho I love long distance trips and just travelling and going on random adventures, so I'm in the midlands quite alot.

I just collected my bike today! Even though it was pouring down with rain, the bike was great!!! it felt really stable and trustworthy. And I admit that I did talk to it when I saw it today... I talk to my bikes... lol
Tho I found it quite difficult to reverse the bike while sitting on it since Im quite short (5"3-4), but I guess I'll get used to it right? :p

It's so nice to finally be on a proper bike again! Yay!

I thought about that as well, but I want to go into proper racing at some point, or at least try it, and I most sports bikes are quite high above the ground, just want to get used to it.

And, Im stubborn so I just try to beat the height thing lol.
Prob gonna drop my bike cos of that but what the heck, the feeling of conquering something (a fear/whatever you find more difficult) is nice, right? :)

My other though when I was trying to decide which bike to get was the bandit, cos the seat height was quite low and the whole bike looks really nice i must say (though there could be more style done to the tank).
But I like the more forward leaning position more, not sure why, might have been addicted to it when I had my ZXR400..
but yea... prob shouldnt write too much or you'll all get bored... lol

Thanks for the replies, it's nice to talk to people who share the same interest and passion to ride and be free! or other reasons but if you enjoy riding, there's nothing wrong with anything!

seems to be a bit of a compromise - tall riders are cramped, short riders can't reverse :) welcome to the mad house! Good to see so many new members/riders appearing on here every day... up the org!

probably best off starting a new thread if you want a *proper* welcome with all the cheesy banter & jokes about different ppl on here. There's some really helpful, really funny, really friendly and really strange people on here. Find out who's in your area and when the local meets take place - you won't regret going along
