To be fair though he probably did.....the veyron he was driving at the time is more than capable of doing it in no time at all. He pipped 214 when he did the european run in the veyron and said that was in a very short distance on a not that straight piece of road.

If I got my hand on a car capable I would probaly try to do it.......as with anything, bikes included...... you have got to see what it can do lol

Honestly, the Limehouse link is not straight - it'd be interesting at 70 let alone 186!

What, through a known speed camera just so that you could get a verified speed? :smt102

I saw Top gear last night and saw his lap time in the Liana was 1:49, same as Martin Clunes (a self confessed van driver with no track experience at all) so he doesn't appear to be a very good driver.

I would use GPS maybe :smt045

He is self confesed as not being a fast/racing type driver, he is however supposed to be pretty handy at car control in general.

Also when they did their times in the liana it had 0 miles on the clock and they were joking about running it in shortly before redlining it in first and second....all of them commented on how tight the engine was when new.

It amazes me that people actually take Jeremy literally, how thick are people not to realise he is one of the best wind up merchants in the media?

Even the chicken wire was a well designed comment to provoke a reaction.

Im with Jeremy, especially when boarding a plane. Turn left because the poor people sit at the back:p

I certainly think the car and he are capable....but he probably said it to wind people up.

"fastest I have ever driven on the public roads... 186"

He lives on the Isle of Man, so it's legal-ish :-P
