PM Ping..........
just go through a sky dealer, ie local sky/tv shop
Well just get it from Virgin then, its cheaper more space as its a 160GB drive, and it has a 'dual' recorder.

How can you not know how to use it?!! ;)
Saying that, my inlaws have one and still sit through the adverts on stuff they record!!
Mrs Camel records everything she watches with adverts, and starts watching them 10 / 20 minutes late, just to skip through them!

There is a cheaper version of getting a freeview TV card for the PC. That way you have as much space as you need and is easy to expand if you find you need more (I currently have 1000 GB).
Or you could get normal sky and run that through the TV card so you have all the channels of Sky, but the recording capacity of the computer. :)
sky+ greatest invention of the last few years

Ooh Ooh Sky discounts!!
Any good deals on HD? When the conservatory is finished in a few weeks, I am "thinking" about sky HD in the lounge, and moving the sky+ into the conservatory for mutli-room.
Hang on....thats gonna put my subscription up from £20 / month to about £70.....I'm gonna need a HUUUGE discount!!

I can't get any discounts on upgrades, only for new subscribers, and only for the next few days. Sorry about that.

Assuming you can get freeview. :smt013yup :) I wouldn't deal with Virgin, the three houses I've lived at have all had problems with virgin changing the price plan for a more expensive one :smt102 The internet is slow, and the cable channels worth watching are all on freeview now. Check out FreeSat if you're in a bad reception area. HD for FREEE :smt035
Aha, another chance to slate VIRGIN!!! Anyone who has a virgin bill with discounts should do a quick calculation of the VAT on it, mine was wrong for about a year (only looked properly when saw a blatantly obvious mistake) and their customer service is rubbish - seems they will forget all about bills when told you will inform every media possible they aren't capable of calculating VAT though!
They don't write up the agreements made after 2 hour conversations, then tell you you are a liar when you call back and ask why not come through on what was agreed!!!??? Argh! Thank goodness for meticulous note and name taking, along with a slightly sad O.C.D. thing for checking invoices!
SKY+ is definitely up there on my list of great inventions, no adverts, bliss! They are doing offers for free boxes now I think, if not it's definitely the case if a friend introduces you. I know they sent us little intro card things, and M&S voucher offers too (yum!) if we introduced our friends that could have only arrived last week?

I recommend subscribing to the above forums and PMing someone for a voucher - It worked for me!
I got Sky+ in March for free with no install charge and my brother received ?50 in M & S vouchers for referring me.
TBH, it was my wife who signed up because I'd only canceled Sky in Jan 08!

I have SKY HD and the full package but I am seriously considering scrapping it for the new FREESAT service.
There is a personal recorder pretty much along the lines of the SKY+ recorder (I believe) coming out later this year plus you get free HD channels.
When I look at my viewing habits it's mostly the standard programmes that you can get with Freeview/Freesat so the only thing making me stay with SKY at the moment is the SKY+ features.
I have a voucher going spare.
Free install, free Sky+ box. Then choose your package from £16/mth upwards. You can add Broadband and SkyTalk etc, in return i get the £50 M&S voucher (also known as Miss Haggis brownie points! ;))
Anyone interested, PM me.
