Ok, so the lights on the curvy are rubbish. What bikes have good headlights? Are the Gixxers any good?
Thinking of changing mine, probably fairing and all, so want a twin light set-up similar to the sv.
Any comments/ideas out there? (About the lights I mean!:D)
Regards
Rich;)
VFR headlights are UNBELIEVABLE although unlikely to fit on an sv.
I was following one once at night and it went around a corner and it went pitch black :o coudlnt see a bloody thing, nearlly had to stop.
When they have a pillion on if the rider hasnt sorted the headlights they burn your retinas.

The new 800's
Ahhh.....might be a tad tricky to fix them to the sv but worth a look. What about the oldr Vtec ones? Any idea?

Kwak zx6 G J AND A models
ZX9 E and F models.
Might find some of them cheaper.

Hi Chris!
Was thinking a little more, ahem, legal;)
Hard to believe, but my back-up KMX 200 lights the road better than the SV which has twin 60/55w 'super extra almost Xenon and bright as the sun so will burn out your retina' bulbs.
What to fit, huh?

I've got a naked curvy & have fitted the headlight off a CB500 - It's a damned sight brighter than standard & I'm well chuffed with it at night

headlight on my K5 GSXR is awesome, I've never wanted for more lighting power on any vehicle.
HTH
I fitted BUell Firebolt lights. From the frying pan to the fire. Don't go there mate. The curvy does look great with a firebolt fairing though IMO. Have to still sort the lights though, and the mirrors show your shoulders ever so nicely ...what was I thinking.
No really I've put this fairing on mainly because I like the look, lights and mirrors are crap. Will sort it out though.

a BIKE mag article once said that the pointy sv lights were one of the best.

They lied. They are OK, but I wouldnt class them anywhere near as good as the lights on my GSXR or Liz's Duke.

VFR-VTEC = 4xH7 bulbs with decent reflectors. They are good. Retinas are not burnt if pre-load adjusted to compensate for pillion. I love em.

+1 on the VFR800. You can see them coming from miles away too. They somehow manage to be highly visible, light the road very well and (provided they're angled correctly) not dazzle oncoming vehicles.
faired Pointy with really good bulbs are fine.
I think FireBlade's are good.
Fizz, on the Gixxer do you mean dipped? If so, why then did Etienne feel the need to upgrade to HID

So just a quick question would the pointy headlights fit on the Curvey??
Proably easiest with a Pointy front sub frame & Pointy fairings & pointy mirrors
How does a curvy front sub frame attach to the headstock?

Lol i was thinking the actual light units the part that the bulbs fit into not the rest of the things keeping the curvey lights but what the bulbs go into??

2 bolts through lugs at the front of the headstock.
Subframe is mild steel so piece of pi$$ to chop and change.

The reflectors.
Total pain in the rse to change about like that.

I stuck some xenon H4 bulbs in my curvy. i got for £4.99 off ebay. thought sod it for a fiver i'd give it a shot but they actually amazing, they generate a lot more light and clearer light. give off a nice white/blue tingeas well and fully road legal. goes well with my blue curvy

What about VFR/CBR headlights? Must surely be able to mount them in the SV fairing. Question is, which ones to go for?
