So my old case broke and i needed a new one. got this one from mapplins.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48124&C=Maplin&U=SearchTop&T=case&doy=1m6

Now, my motherboard is only usb1 but these ports are usb port 2

now...im not sure if i have wired the usb to my motherboard correctly but when i plug a device in it says not recognized...

Or will the usb2 not work on the usb 1 ports.

any advice will be greatly received!

Thanks

You should be fine.

All USB connections are 4 pins

1 --- +5V
2 --- Data +
3 --- Data -
4 --- GND

So all USB devices MUST be the same regardless of speed.

Physically you will be fine, there may be extra grounding, but if its USB 2.0 compliant, this should be a case of over-specing and so be fine

As said, should be fine, cant think of any reason not to be, but TBH its not something I have really come across (I dont think so anyway).

As far as I am aware the case should not be labelled as USB 2.0 as ony devices - including the USB hubs on your motherboard comply to a USB "level".
