Good morning ladies and gents.
I was in my local suzuki dealership the other day when an sv1000 classic caught my eye.
The dealer (who i bought my bike off) offered my 3200 for my 9 Month old SV is this a good price as its on 0% and has about 3k left on it?
Also will the mods be worth anything or should I remove them first?
I'm still not 100% sure I should trade but that bike did look amazing, does anyone know if they come with pillion seats and could anyone who has traded up to the 1000 help sway my decision.
Cheers

TBH I wouldnt. The SV1000 imo isnt as good as the 650 (from my exp). If you want a bigger capacity bike then look at Tuano or Falco depending on what you like... V-twins both. :)

Ah see, so the 1000 isn't as good. Perhaps i'll have a re think then. I do really like the 650 but know i need to throw some money at it as it's severely undersprung 2 up.

Just get an after market shocker. It may cost you a bit of money but not as much as a new bike... The suspension on the SV is the only real flaw imo. Well maybe brakes could be better mind, but do the job well enough.
Look at hagon (think thats the spelling) for resonable cheapish shocks and Ohlins and WP if you fancy shelling out.

?3200 is not that bad, you can't really get over ?3500 for a second hand bike now, even one that's just left the showroom. 0% and discounts on RRP make sure of that.
Mods - I'd remove and sell separately, you will get more money. SV1000s come with pillion seats same as the 650 - did it not have one on? Maybe they were tarting it up - I'd have thought the seat cowl was an optional extra like for the 650.
In terms of upgrading I'd get a ride yourself. All the comments I've read indicate that it's NOT a bigger 650 - it's a different bike altogether. You could love it or hate it - bit like marmite it seems. Although I know Mr. Greek's actually tried one - not sure if you found it lacking because it wasn't like a bigger 650, or because it was just not that good whichever way you look at it?

Oh dont get me wrong. Its a good bike but imo there are better bikes out there for similar money. Like muffles says try it. If you like then COOL. But if you want a bigger twin alike to the SV1000 try the Falco (I prefered it... obviously) and the Firestorm (though it drinks too much fuel so bad choice these days) or a Fazer if you want too many Cylinders... :p
