Been trying to solve this mystery all day!

My new dial is all connected up and I have got a slight prob, now I also know this is an SV site so people may not be able to help.

I have connected most of the wires up, indi's, high beam etc. Now, ground on my bike is set as green, so, attached the connector that has oil and neutral on it and obviously connected the green up, looking at my wiring diagram in the haynes and the oil light, and neutral lights are not connected up via green at all, they both have a brown/black and then whatever colours they have. Am I to assume that this is the connector for ground, the problem then being that the indicator that also runs of this will not work then...

I think I am just being dumb and that the brown/black is something else. If that is the case, what is the best solution for it as they only have one wire from the new dash...

They will be grounded / earthed through their individual switches, the lights will have a positive feed on one side and will earth via the switches. Hope this makes sense:confused:

Yeah yeah I know that but some of the old lights have the green earth but others are brown/black with no green. Thats what I am wondering, is it still an earth. Will try and scan my Haynes and show peeps. Or maybe I will be able to make sense of it myself

Yes it is still an earth, the wire is coloured differently from the earth to differentiate it from the green earth wire(s) that are fitted to the other side of the switches.
