i wish to pick your brains
every time i rinse off the car i get those pesky water droplet marks when it dry's which on silver looks crap, now i can't be ar5ed to polish the car so basically can some one recommend me a shampoo that will get rid of the marks without needing to polish?

Or a damp microfibre cloth from Tesco for about 80 pence. I do, it's better than a chamois.
The white marks are impurities in the water left behind after the drops evaporate. The only way I know to avoid them is do what my window cleaner does and use filtered water, but the kit is costly.

+1 with a real leather chamois not a synthetic one

I herd that even a expensive real Chamois leather slightly scratches the paint work. I use a microfibe cloth on the beemer and i looks like it has been polished afterwards.
You can also buy de-ionising filter which attach to the end of your hose which purify the water and stop the streak/smears/watermarks.
...don't wash the car in the first place?

USe the Flash hose attachment. It has a setting to filter the water before its sprayed over the car. They are about 25 quid I think

Use a decent car wax to put a protective film on the paint as well as making her shine. This has two effects, it makes the water bead and so it runs off easily and protects the paint from the tiny scratches washing with ANY thing can cause. A proper leather chamois will not damage paint.
