My chain has all but got to the end of it's life so during the coming weeksI am going to have to replace it.

The sprockets are fine, but I think it would be wise to replace them too, is that right?

I have no idea what I need for my SV650(s) K3, but want something decent that will put up with all weather riding.

Also, while I am at it (money dependant) I am thinking of putting a Scottoiler on, although again I am not sure what to get and if it is worth it.

Any suggestions/advice would be most welcome. Oh yeah and where's the best place to buy any of these items from.

I would recommend you to contact Spanner Man, he'll sort you out.
In theory, you don't need to replace the sprockets every time you put a new chain on, but old ones will wear the new chain quicker.
I've put on a Scottoiler, I was annoyed with in in the beginning, but once you get used to using it (to set it correctly) you'll be happy :)

I just had a new chain and rear sprocket fitted at the weekend, but had a bigger rear sprocket put on to try it - Wow!!

What a difference it's made, Ok you lose about 10mph off the top end but the difference in accelleration is very noticable. I also felt the bike was more poised (being easier to get into higher revs) for cornering etc.

I've yet to discover the/any downsides to this but so far I love it!

Is that an insurance notifyable mod though?

I have recently put a new chain and sprocket set on my curvy and a scotoiler, the scotoiler was a bit fiddly to place/set up but now i am very happy, not having to clean and grease the chain :) still check the tension periodically tho. http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php?p=1495525&postcount=35 take a look at the thread

That's a very good question, I've no idea!

I'll give them a buzz and see...
