I'm now fully convinced that anyone with spoked wheels and alloy rims, that keeps them shinny must have a fair degree of OCD, not having had spoked wheels for ages and only then keeping them clean, I'd forgotten how much effort and pain was involved, my poor fingers have been bashed to bits going in & out the spokes and rubbing the rims up to a shine.
3 hours and only one wheel done, but of course I'll now have to do the other, but this'll be the first and last time they get polished by me.
Cheers Mark.

I'm sure that K will comment appropriately on the above ;)

LOL Mark.........It took me a fair while to polish my alloys on the black SV yesterday, and for now theres no polished forks( til I rip the laquer off this new set), so thats a small relief.....the problem is......and heres the really big admittance i have OCD................
I polished my downpipe once yesterday, then went for a ride (nothing bad I hear you say) then after the bike had been sat an hour or two I went and polished it again:oops:, because it had turned gold. HELP!!!!!!
I don't envy the spoked wheels though, my 125 had those and chrome wheels.... I were at it for hours

So your Saturday is booked on the AR weekend then, I'll bring the wheels and polish, you bring the OCD ;)
(Or of course, just to help you out I could leave the back wheel for you............Please)

lol - there's an awful lot of smuttiness going on on the forum right now.
I like it!
I'd like to get my rims (chortle) nice and shiny at some point.
Though, at some point (if I keep the bike that long), i'd like to get a new front wheel- as the rim is chipped from my off last Jan.

Well, that rules me me out, then. :D
My SV is gone. I have spokes and alloy rims on my stripey 3-pot lover, but I forgot to clean her. In fact, I've three MOT'd bikes in the garage, all with spoked wheels. Life's too short to clean them.

Indeed, previously both the beeza and the Norton were rebuilt with stainless spokes and chromed rims and only needed a spray with the power washer, the MT500 I sprayed the rims and spokes black, I really can't remember having to hand polish wheels like that, but don't worry it won't happen again, riding is so much more fun.
Cheers Mark.
Since I was a kid with a bicycle I swore I would never put myself in the position to have to do it again!

All my bikes have dirty wheel for exactly that reason. My ally rims on my push bike look absolutely terrible after 2 winters and the spokes are a lovely shade of rust brown. Life is too short ;-) but well done for having the patience to do it.
