Just thought it might be useful, peeps who have done it all before post a listy list of what they advise etc. That way, peeps can read it and it will surely remind you all of something you've forgotten. :D
Just an idea.
Anyone wanna start????? (Cause I'm useless, brain is fried and will forget something major straight away. lol ;))

Tried this last year... Get an inflatable li-lo the stuff you get for the beach or swimming pool. They cost about 99p from your local beach front shop, or I have heard of them being in Tesco and a like around this time of year. They will weigh nothing and take up no space, but will require a nice set of lungs unless you have a pump. I used mine with a roll mat over the top to even out the lumps, but its up to you. Quite comfortable considering. And best of all when its time to leave just rip a couple of holes in it and pop it in the bin, no messing around.

I got a couple from millets that roll up small, not heavy either. They take just minutes to blow up without a pump and are comfy enough

A beer can will do for that if you do forget, although that will mean having to drink a can of beer as soon as you get there I know it's a hardship to do that but i'm sure most will manage ;-)

As little as possible. Seriously take what you need not what you think you need. We always take to much stuff and we never use half of it.
For AR06 I took
1 x Tent
2 x Sleeping bags
1 x rollmat
+ Clothes for me and Liz
Liz's camping stove and provisions
I got all that into a tankbag and a tailpack. If you take your tent out of its bag and stuff it in the tailpack and then stuff everything else in. Then just zip tie the poles across the top of the luggage it takes up less room that way I think.
Remember theres a pub on site you can get food at, also I'm quite happy to do a beer run or show people where the local shops are so you dont need to bring beer for food with you as you can sort out that stuff when you get to the site.

I always take my little gas lamp... very handy, it makes light you know but also it makes some heat, which is a godsend in a tent if it turns out wet. And if you have any spare levers etc it's worth bringing those, all it takes is to knock your bike over in the field and that could be rideout over otherwise :( or alternatively, riding home for hundreds of miles in third gear...
And my cowboy hat, in case it rains. Or suns. Or snows or hails. But not blows obviously. Last year I just kept on my goretex bike trousers, my waterproof jacket and my hat, and I was impervious to all known weather.

On top of most things mentioned I shall also be bringing -

Chef jacket (don't want to be spoiling a t shirt with burger spillage when cooking)
BBQ Tools and Knives for cooking.
If I didnt bring these things you wouldn't get fed, and that could get ugly, very ugly indeed....

No, it is a competition fishing lake which belongs to an angling club. The lake is off limits unless you have prior arrangement with the owners which we know some guys have to go fishing. We don't want to upset our hosts by messing around in their lake.

There's some nice benches and grassy area's around the edges of the lake to sit around and have a beer and a natter, so it should be cool.

We do need to make sure we stay out of the lake though, so if peeps start saying about it again, perhaps we can direct them back to Liz's post above ?
