View Full Version : What kind of exhaust should I go for?

OK I'm looking for a new exhaust for my stock K6, I always liked the coloured titanium but have been put off by a few chavtastic comments, I quite like the carbon fibre ones too, stainless would be fine but not much of a change from stock is my only thought.

Also, side question, High level exhausts, what would I need to have it high level with the pillion pegs still on, different link pipe and mounting method or is it more complex than that?

Coloured titanium can look really wrong on some bikes, but the blued ones really do suit blue SVs. Assuming that's your bike in your avatar, I'd go for blue titanium.

Take it off at the manifold and run it like that.

Theres enough tractors around here without mine sounding like one :)

Personally I'd opt for Stainless Steel or Plain Titanium, but this is a personal taste! A coloured titanium can looks very chav!!!

Ask around, some let you retain the rear pegs and some don't. The ones that do will come with spacers to move your pegs further out, can look a bit silly though!

My dads got a Scorpion Coloured Titanium exhaust and it goes really well with the blue. Build quality is great too and its one of the best sounding cans for the SV, it has a nice deep rumble. My dads bike now got lots of graphics on so this is the best picture i could find without!

I vote carbon fibre, but that's partly because my sv is black and I think it'd look good hehe. The blue above does look hot stuff though!

Voted Ti.

Subtle but strong. Good C/F is luverly tho'.

Hi-level is cool looking but impractical. (Can't get my foot in the proper position with my Remus/ burns a hole in your boots if you try.)

Here's a pic of Dr Rich's (now the White Rabbit, for some reason) old SV:

For some reason, this can has the blue on the other end to normal, but it looks really good like that. IIRC that's a Blueflame tri-oval.

Yes, it is a Blue Flame so product inconsistency is expected!!!

Quite easy to do with ovals and round cans if anybody wants too, just drill the rivets in the bands out and swap the sleeve around the over way then re-revit it back together.

Go for a scorpian stubby in coloured titanium if they do stubbied ones in that sort.

IMO that looks abit odd because when you get something hot say a blow torch the blue is always in the centre then the other colours follow and like my scorpian (see << pic) the hottest end is where the link pipe is.... just looks odd. I do like blue flame cans though lol! :cool:

I voted coloured Titanium, but then I have one so like them, oh and I made it a stubby :twisted:

I think all coloured titanium cans look odd for that very reason, the sleeves don't get hot enough. It is a personal taste, so what a rider likes and wants his bike to be is his choice.

Hmm lots of interesting comments, sadly don't think I can afford to go for a branded one, there is a guy that makes them for the following prices:
Stainless = £115
Carbon = £130
Ti = £145
Ti Coloured = £180

That's for oval ones, think I'd prefer that though, another deviation from stock.
quite a few coloured ones looking good on the blue though I do agree. hmm decisions decisions. thanks for all the thoughts so far.

True. Its ment to be that effect though where the metals getting hot obviously its not going to but thats what there trying to achieve. I wont get another coloured one though even though they look nice to much cleaning required for my liking.... im going to get a stubby - less cleaning area lol!

Hmm, dont worry about the chavvy comments mate i used to get them all the time(and owned one of the nicest svs your ever likely to see).

Why if something looks nice is it chavvy,it's bo**ocks imo.

If you like coloured titanium then buy it,at the end of the day it's your bike and what you like,so it really does'nt matter what others think.

Agreed, don't let the people who speak their minds stop you, just because they don't like it doesn't mean you can't have it. I think the term chav is used to much now. My SV was chavvy :eek: when i had it for being different, but i didn't give a sh!t as it was mine and i loved it!!

Im making my mind up too.

Don't want to spend silly money, maybe £200 if looks nice and sounds like hell is ripping apart. Im thinking i don't want S/S or round, because that is standard. I like the tri-oval ones, but they seem to be quite pricey.

I'd rather like a black one, does anyone do one in a black finish, possibly matt?

Yeap, Beowulf (http://www.beowulf-performance-products.com/default.asp) do.
