Bugger me! A summer evening without a G&T!

Gin and tonic drinkers may find this summer rather a disappointment - due to a worldwide shortage of lemons.
"By the end of July lemons will have almost completely run out,' said Jeremy Green of Lincolnshire firm Greencell which supplies 33 per cent of the UK's imported lemons.
They will be scarce until September when European lemon crops should be ready.

But G and T is much better with Lime! So I'm alright Jack!

Well that's not a problem - like Lou says, G&T is better with Lime, and not only that in most PROPER cocktail and expensive bars, it comes with Lime as standard as it should do anyway.

Most places just choose to use Lemons as they're cheaper, and more universal for which drinks they suit (eg: anything any coke)

I think we can safely presume the lime crop will sadly have suffered the same fate.

Maybe it's time to drink Hendricks? You're meant to have that with a slice of cucumber :)

I've got an awesome czech spirit with an 'untypable' (never mind pronounceable) name made from sloe berries. Tastes like Gin with a turbo on it. About 55% yet sooooo easy to drink. I usually don't use lemon when I make G&Ts this way, so it should be fine for me. :)

Depends on the gin, Gordons for example should be served with lemon, Bombay Saphire however should have lime. Something to do with the acidity or something...

I prefer Bombay blue Sapphire

Aha- Bombay Sapphire. The King of Gins!

Not had a GnT for ages- they do tend to make me a little moody, though.

Stella- rarely. Again- the hangovers.

I do like a bottle of Faustino though. And one wouldn't dream of dropping citrus fruits in that!

Only took advantage of the knob-ed drunks (most of them) and that was back in the day when I actually used to do some work!!!
