Hi,

I'm new to biking and I'd like to get my SV650S serviced, I've had it for 6 months and it has done under 1k since I've had it, total mileage is £27k. I was told it was last serviced sometime last year however there is no record of this. It rides well but I have no idea how to service it myself which would be the ideal and cheapest solution!

I have been quoted prices of £60 upwards for a service - safety check and oil filter change but parts on top. I would be happy to pay but not as much as this and ideally I was hoping a fellow member could help me out and I'd be happy to pay for their time and at the same time I'd learn?

Alternatively does anyone know anyone locally who could do it for less?

Thanks in advance,
G

Buy a Haynes manual or the other one..Clymer, buy the bits plugs, oil filter, air filter, oil etc, spend a sunday afternoon getting to know your bike better.thats what i do and saves a fortune in bills

I'd offer to give you a few pointers, but am really struggling for time at the moment, as I'm backwards and forwards with moving house and trying to renovate the new one.

Whereabouts are you actually based, and what exactly is it that you want to do? Just an oil change, or a bit more than that? If you're localish to me and just want to change the oil, I'm sure I could manage a spare hour at some point to give you a few pointers.
