Stu
11-06-08, 05:54 PM
Stickers, I'm not sure. Can you see if you can live with them for a bit before you rip them off?

And Mirrors - I know Ducatti ones are not the greatest, but any plans to put some on?

Take the stickers off and it will look super!!

What about the mirrors though?! Were they an optional extra that you couldn't afford because of the running costs that you will incur? :P

Lissa
11-06-08, 05:56 PM
Thanks peeps:D

I think most of the stickers will have to come off, might keep just a couple. It has carbon termi's fitted....................but the SV is still louder:p

Stu
11-06-08, 05:57 PM

Nice bike, I do love the 916 etc, my favourite would have to be a red 998R if I could afford one. Why do Ducati owners have such bad taste and slap sponsorship stickers all over their bikes - get rid of them Lissa, they look tacky and dated.

A little while ago I was loaned this to play on for a week or two because the owner wanted some miles racking up and he hadn't got the time to ride it. It's a 1997 748SP, with fully floating cast iron Brembo dscs and Goldline calipers, vented clutch cover and every available classy extra like the full 50mm Termi system as well. To be perectly honest, it's not much faster than my SV but the handling and braking were absolutely sublime.

Thank you all for your mostly kind comments;)

Rest assured the old bean can zorst will still be heard on Org rideouts. As long as the carbs can be sorted.:(

Funny innit, I like the stickers, but Lissa always said they were too much. Gonna keep em on for a little while as they may come in useful if I drop the bike or mark a panel as I explore underneath the sexy body.:D

Very nice indeed! Whats the plan then - alternate between them both? I remember something Rictus said a while back - "you will always end up riding the one you like the best" - be interesting to see how it turns out ;)

Looking forward to seeing it - bit of an extreme measure just to keep up with me though! :smt077 ;)

We've already decided that as long as we get the fuelling issues sorted out, we'll be on the SV for the AR. It IS the org event of the year after all:D Besides, we don't want the Duc used as a boundary marker for the cricket:p

Thats one lovely bike Lissa

To be honest Plowsie, I find the pillion seat fine. Not cramped or uncomfortable at all. Pete's the one who's gonna get a sore ar$e I think:D

oh I see. not good, had that prob on the black bike early on, but i guess you'll have done all the usual investigative stuff;-) mine ended up being knackered sliders( them bar things on the sides that push back n forth with springs on) on the carbs! worth a look? it popped, banged, misfired and didn't accelerate last yr very well at the AR, it was amusing at times, as some folk may recall....up hills.

Clean looking Duc, is it as well under all that fairing?

It's def carb related we think, the guy looking at it next week thinks he knows what the problem is. Fingers crossed.

Ah but Pete could count them now and also take . Then all he has to do is a weekly check...unless of course you claim, it's due to ahem 'fastness' so he has to turn it down  a notch or two, to stop further losses....what do you think :-? lol

Hi Guardian:D

The seats are made by Bagster, the same company who make the tank covers.

http://www.bagster.com/en/sellerie.php

They're not cheap, around the 200 quid mark, but are so comfortable and also look really nice, we think. You can have each panel in whichever colour you choose.

I'd love to get my licence, but I wouldn't be able to ride either of them if I did..........I'm too flipping short:(
