Hi all,

I found this site after reading an old copy of Performance Bikes (I was looking for reviews of the SV cos I'm looking for a new bike)

Anyway, the decision was between the SV and a Buell Lightning 9 and I think the SV has it, mainly because they're a lot cheaper to buy used :D and you can get lots of aftermarket stuff for them. I'm leaning towards an unfaired curvy model- I think they look good with a belly pan fitted.

So... hopefully in a couple of months I'll be pottering/blatting around on a nice shiny SV!:D

I recently had a similar decision to make for my first 'big bike'. I was looking at a CBF600, 650 V-Strom, and SV. SV swung it for the reasons you mentioned above and because of the existence of this forum of course. ;)

Can thoroughly recommend the SV, only had mine a few weeks and the grin hasn't worn off yet :D

P.S. Welcome aboard.

I've had a few (well, lots) of Yamahas from a DT125R to an FZR400 3TJ with an assortment of TZR250s (3) and SZR660s (3) along the way, not forgetting the WR250 2 stroke supermoto (bonkers). The naked SV kind of adds up to what I liked about all the bikes I had. It's about the same weight as the SZR and FZR but with more power (good) and uses the same tyre sizes as the FZR (good again). The seating position is kind of supermoto-esque which I like as you can see over cars and stuff on the daily barge/grind/dodge/commute, and they look cool as hell with twin pipes  I love the bark of a single or twin with open pipes. I have to say I was tempted by the early Fazer 600 but it looks a bit 'pipe and slippers' (and 4s aren't that exciting to ride but they do sound nice), whereas the SV looks more 'open pipe and slipper clutch' :D

The problem is I'm already looking for other stuff that'll fit the SV. If Suzuki is anything like Yamaha then I'd imagine all kinds of stuff is interchangeable :D

Hi & welcome to the site!! :D

that's a nice mix of bikes you've owned there (always had a soft spot for SZR660s & FZR400s myself). Hope you have as much fun on the SV!

Funny how its the Ladies that like the SZR660's.

Mind you, didn't Kate nickname hers "The Rabbit" ???

If they were still being made today, maybe the ad would go something like

"Anne Summers dont do motorbikes, but if they did..............."
