View Full Version : where to buy a hugger?
Just a quick question really, where's the best place to buy a rear hugger for my k6 sv650? preferably in black or red, and not too pricey.

I'd go for a Red Fox hugger there quite cheap but the build quality is brilliant on them or go all out on a Official Suzuki one
Go for the Official Suzuki one, don’t go for the Pyramid hugger because it come with a stupid bracket which clamps on the swinging arm that rubs all the paint off.
Also you need to go for a hugger made for a K4 onwards because of toolkit under the battery box (which were not on the K3 models) gets in the way and starts rubbing against the hugger.

******** :( I ordered one from that sportsbikeshop before I saw your post, not really up for having all my paint rubbed off, anything I can do about it? dished out £80 for it now so I'd like to fit it if possible but don't want it wrecking other parts of the bike!

OE is best, failing that cheap one off ebay, (not powerbronze tho)

Unfortunately I didn't get this advice til I'd already ordered the pyramid one from the sportsbikeshop, just wondered if you've got any advice on what I can do to stop it ditching the paintwork on my bike as it's been suggested it might do further up this thread?

Yeah, OEM is the best to go for with the Pointy's!

A thin bit of foam/rubber between the two parts will cancel out the vibration and also stop the metal to metal contact from scratching paint.
As long as the packaging has not been opened try and send it back, if not here is what i did in the end to stop it rubbing.
Use outdoor waterproof black sticky pads (you can get them from Wilkinson Hardware Stores) under the bracket it will stop it from rubbing once you have tighten the bracket up they will hold tight.

cheers for the advice, I may try and fit it with something like this to stop the paint rubbing, as it'll only be a right ballache to try and send it back now, it was bad enough getting it delivered being as I work and can't sit at home waiting for packages.
