it had to happen
north south .. just got back..
had an off. !!
lovely morning best roads ever - realy enjoying it- got me chick strips down a bit- then the heavens opened- we stopped. put wet suits on- carried on..
all in all we did over 160 miles that day and then 3 miles from back to base- I had slowed right down to about 30mph.. cos the rain was really getting to me .
approaching a left hand bend- Peter and Lissa behind me and boomm.. back end fish taield flipped under me on a lowside sending the bike spinning on its R and G into the other lane on other side and me a nice fly through the air and a roly poly in to a kerb and grass verge and a wooden post. ,
bruised and peed off. and bike a bit bent but nowt major - rode it to the campsite the 3 miles after- rode it home- all 4 hours home !..
nerves a bit shattered- the guys will tell you how slow I rode home from the accident spot. ! wimp.. unsure when or if I will g out onit again- kinda rocked me.. dont know what I did wrong..
few ideas - aquaplaned maybe braked but didnt think I did and pete said he didnt see my brake light - Amarko said my tyre was wierd - was repelling water like it had oil or something right down the middle.
anyway - me OK.. just sad - angry and hurt .. however- oh my god It could have been a lot worse- no car coming other way or wudda been bad bad injuries or goodnight vienna..
thanks to all involved for cheering me up and for assisiting- sorry I wasnt my usual gobby self therafter.
guess what- pics to follow... .... .

and the damage
Bung really did the job.!
bung wrecked- few scratches - brake lever pooped on rear- front one scratched (fekin pazzo too !! ) .. screen bust - cheap double bubble so will get another cheap one. back panel scratched.
all in all not too bad for a flippy spin down the road and the bike wizzing off like a skateboard on its side- was really expecting it to have mashed up everything and a split tank whn it was picked up-
so I am begining to look on the brighter side that I am still here and bike is mendable for about £60 ..

all in all not too bad and me lucky-
just off hospital for a check up cos I bloody ache
approaching a left hand bend- Peter and Lissa behind me and boomm.. back end fish taield flipped under me on a lowside sending the bike spinning on its R and G into the other lane on other side and me a nice fly through the air and a roly poly in to a kerb and grass verge and a wooden post.
It was a very impressive dismount Quiff......triple salco with twist!
few ideas - aquaplaned maybe braked but didnt think I did and pete said he didnt see my brake light - Amarko said my tyre was wierd - was repelling water like it had oil or something right down the middle.
I certainly didn't see your brake lights either, and the tyre certainly looked weird with that band of almost polished-looking rubber.
Quiff. :smt022
I really hope this won't put you off, and we'll still see you at the AR08.
You ****.
Glad you and the new steed are OK (ish)
I'll take the p155 properly at the annual rideout

p.s. as for giving biking up, get back on as soon as poss and keep smiling, this is one of your loves and you'll miss it loads. I am missing it and that is what is making me get back on when I am able to - you will give into your true love !! xx Just take it slow and regain your confidence.
Looks like you were very fortunate Quiff! Like you said, could of been a lot worse.
What's this talk of "don't know if I'll ride it again" all about? You know you've got the bug :p
On the other hand, if you're selling it cheap.... :D

Send them a photo, they may replace them FOC
hey cheer up! you're OK, the bike is fine...a few battle scars really and other than that you just need a new screen and a brake peg :)
aquaplaning is one of those things that happens......put it down to bad luck and move on fellow :)

Glad your ok dude, and bikes are repairable!
Don't let it put you off, obviously you had to ride it back which is a good thing as you probably didn't have time the dwell on it.

Bummer about the crash mate, but as others have said you are OK, and i'm sure your confidence will return. i've had quite a few little spills over the last few months, having never had any before and it does take you down a peg or two - you WILL get that confidence back though! Keep at it. Hopefully meet you at the AR then.
Phil
Glad your not too broke. Good job you had that biiigiggggg pie earlier!! GWS.

Don't dream of packing it in!
Today was probably the worst conditions you could have on the day after.
B*llOx!
They were the best.
The aches will soon go, you'll recover the main use of your arm, the your bike's hardly marked. And you got home after riding sensibly in atrocious conditions. You deserve a medal.
If you want some bruises to show at the A.R. my offer still stands, but I expect one of your many lady admirers would be more appropriate.
Get fit soon & get riding sooner
Regards
d
Very glad you're in one piece and can make light of it mate. Bonus that the bike's hardly touched. Get well soon!

Sorry to hear this Quiff, don't quit now, we need someone to commit the AR to film!
Seems those R&G protectors are worth the price then.
Send them a photo, they may replace them FOC
With a good write up of how well they performed (which they did) you have a good chance. Or at least a serious discount which I have heard of before.
How the feck did you get that R&G off your bike?
What a bugger Quiff, especially when you cant explain it. :(
Hope you have a swift recovery mate.

That's why you've got so many ribs, you can break LOADS before you run out :joker: Hope you get well soon, no shirking off the AR! The worst crashes are the ones you can't quite explain, they shake you up, at least when you do something stupid you can avoid doing it again...
Sorry to hear this. Hope you feel better soon and get back on the bike.
If I can, anyone can.

Bloody heck Dave lad. Even more piccies now the weekend is up.
Sorry to read there was damage to yourself, I just thought you are/is a big soft girly.
Terrible conditions for the ride back yesterday. We had to go slow. You even ended up on the hard shoulder at one point as we were coming down from Shap in the sideways rain and I was thinking here we go again.
Never mind, you learnt one valuable lesson yesterday. don't suggest I have a pie, until you have seen the price. £3.49 for a godam growler

I've always found the reluctance to get back in the saddle dissapears after the first dry ride in the sunshine, or when you realise going pillion with your psycho mates is the only alternative, lol

Nope - just typical Suzuki "Sacrificial" parts. :laughat:
Anyway Dave. You were a real lucky fella there. I was so pleased to see how little damage you got away with, hell - a bottle of Tipp-Ex will sort that paint job out.
