and by breaking the bikes down for spare parts, which can generate more profit than selling the vehicle in one piece."

Hold on a minute..

Anything from nothing is a profit...

they could be selling them on for a £5 and still be making money...

The Leicester Mercury (As always!) are slow on the news...

Over 2 months ago the Police were well aware of the situation and sent a letter out to all registered owners in the area of motorbikes that are in the same criteria of those being stolen, as a warning that these thefts are going on, and to improve security if possible.

A month prior to that, 2 of my mates bikes were nicked from the same locked garage in Hinckley (Triumph Daytona 995 and a Yamaha R6, both less than 2 years old) and they took 2 expensive push bikes at the same time.
After the police checked out their garage, they said it was done by professionals and no traces were left.

They managed to take the two motorbike and 2 push bikes without waking him up, even though he had his bedroom window open which faces the driveway, and the driveway is fully graveled!

Just make sure it's locked away...
