So who's travelling from the far ends of the galaxy, or just ends of scotland, to get to AR?

I'm coming from Bolton which won't win any medals.

If I cheat and count all my 'vias' on the way, about 1000 miles for me ;)

Northy and I have about 450 miles to travel to get to the campsite so we may well be contenders for that coveted prize !!:p

the "mile muncher title" (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=93022) was won by Dizzy as it wasn't only distance but overcoming obsticles as well, for example Foxyinleathers, passed her test last week to come on her own bike, Carnivore delayed a hip OP to come, many more examples I'm sure.

Cheers Mark.

Ahh rite......... I thought this thread was who's travelling furthest as opposed to who overcame various obstacles to get there. The guy from France looks the winner at the mo.

On the other basis........ you won last year did you not??

For us it's just miles... Broken hips and spines aside :D Blueflame is north of me so he'll be the furthest, unless Redbuoy comes. I think Zunkus almost came from Malta last year :D

Me and maria will be travveling about 135 miles

Which is ok

but a bit tiring on a 33 bhp SV, loaded up with gear and and pillion

If you'd have waited two weeks for AR08, I would have a derestricted SV...

Mind you, its not much of a trek, its like me riding from maria;s to brighton then carrying on riding for a bit longer, easy peasy

if redbouy can make it...he'll be nothing short of "most eager orger"

well not so much of a trip for me this year, about 140 miles if I head straight down, but I'm taking most of the day and my route is 216 miles, although this year had better be a lot less painful this time and I should be capable of walking at the end of it :D

The effort your making? I think the "only to those that come by bike" rule is firmly out the window!!! Get there any way you can, I say

Wooo there can be a 33 bhp corner. I and the others shall combine to equal the power of one single SV :smt077

33bhp is a lot better than 0bhp (or whatever walking would be; 0.something?)

Funny story about the trip down. Well I think it's funny anyway.

We (7 bikes - me, John, Daryl, Quiffy, Mr UKI1 (Paul) Mac608 and Stewie) got stuck in traffic in Hereford. We were looking for a caff to stop at. I thought there'd be somewhere in the town centre so turned left but no luck, so then turned right to head out of town, only the road didn't lead back to the A49, it went off to Ledbury. So, me leading, I turned right up a residential street only to get completely lost in this rabbit warren of narrow streets that went nowhere.

Desperate to find away out we just got hopelessly lost, turned into a narrow street that led into some allotments. Only, we passed a Pentecostal church where a funeral was taking place. The mourners were mainly all inside, with the undertaker's staff stood outside in black suits waiting for the official cars to arrive, only they didn't. Instead, seven very noisy bikes came down the street only to turn round and come roaring back up. By now the funeral cars were about to arrive but the street was that narrow they couldn't get past to park outside the church until we got out the way. We really didn't mean to be disrespectful...

Well we racked up 100 miles or so in the car between the two of us this weekend... but we only live 4 miles from the campsite, I cant quite believe we did that much running about with the car

Ooops, I didn't realise it was a funeral, I honestly thought it was a wedding. Wondered why they looked at me funny when I nodded to a couple of them!
