Sometimes I use the wireless connection on my laptop. But when I'm gaming I plug in the LAN cable for a faster connection. But how does it know which connection to use?
Does it automatically go for the fastest, or is there a way to set it up so that it prefers the LAN connection?
I'm running Vista Home Premium. Any help appreciated :)

Doesnt your laptop have an "off" switch for the wireless connection?

Mine does which means I can turn it off when required and just plug the cable in and use the internet hardwired.

In Control Panel > Network Connections, disable the Wireless network and it will automatically connect using the LAN.
When you want wireless back, just re-enable!

goto Network Connections

On Menu Bar of Network Connections, Advanced -> Advanced Settings, you can set priority of connections

Cheers got it :D
It had the wireless as the main connection and the LAN as the secondary. Sorted now :D
