Couple of steel plates and an air rifle, when you see one bounce a pellet off the plate while it's nearby, makes a gret big clang and scares them off.

get a dog or more than one and chuck their poo into your neighbours garden!!!!;)

If the cats are messing in your garden and you don't have any young children or pets of your own, put some of the wooden bar-b-que skewers in the ground. You need quite a few of them and leave them sticking out of the ground about an inch. Hurts like hell when stood on - hence the reason not to put them in if you have pets or children.

see if you can borrow a lion for the weekend!!!! ( sorry i know that's not helpful)

my neighbours cat keeps messing in my front garden and I've got 2 young children who like to play outside. I've got some stuff from pet shop to put down but i have to get rid of all the poo first. Can't remember the name of it but it looks like green crystals that are supposed to work. Not used yet as it keeps raining and not sure if it will wash away (again not very helpful, sorry)

No idea, probably. I would definately advise against it though, a legal air rifle isn't powerful enough for a humane kill, I'd want 30ft-lbs at least for headshot.

Or maybe a BB gun? They sting a bit but don't do much damage, go for the back end though.

mine can dispatch a bunny in one shot

or so I have been told.......

yorkie_chris

If it takes more than one shot you shouldn't be using it.

Cat is a bit harder than a bunny, bigger head, thicker skull. Not humane, not right IMO.

Use a shotgun or a crossbow

One of my work colleagues assures me that the soundwave thingy makes the cats in his area flock - in his words " they like ****ing to music"! But he stuck cocktail sticks in (he has kids) and apparently it is working.
Wouldn't like to pick em out before mowing the lawn though!

How about a garden sprayer rigged to a a sensor? Otherwise for a long term solution get a dog that eats cats... it could be a short term solution if its fast.

Can't you get those electronic things that make a high pitched noise that scares them away? Maybe i'm thinking of something else.

Yes it does, friend of mine used to work at Longleat and he used to use lion/tiger $hit in his garden, scaqred off both cats and dogs.

I never could understand why people keep moggies. I can see their purpose in keeping them to hunt vermin. But to domesticate them?

My neighbour put carpet gripper rod on the top of his fence to stop them climbing on it

Get a dog. Even my little Jack Russel hates them and makes damm sure none live to tell the tale if they are stupid enough to trespass on his manor

Idea I tried last night and it seemed to work....so far
I put a nail at each end of the fence and strung some fishing line 2 inches (50 mm) high along the top ,stretched nice and tight.Really spooked them up.

If you can get close to them, squirt washing up liquid on them. When they go to clean themselves apparently it doesn't taste very good. Also if they are out in the rain they will froth up and hopefully get put down by the RSPCA who might think they have rabies if they are frothing!!!!

Dunno if you can still get em, but there used to be a bait catapult that could throw groundbait out a country mile, think it was called the whopper dropper, place cat poo in pouch aim at offending neighbours house and fire away :D
