View Full Version : Haslam talking up a move to AMA?
Reading this weeks MCN, Haslam has been talking about a potential move to AMA next year. He seems to think that the prospect of getting on the world stage is greater by moving over there. He mentions that theres been no-one going through from BSB but seems to have forgotten about Kiyo, Rea & Walker amongst others moving?!
Personally I think this is a step in the wrong direction

Yup, and Lavilla, Kagayama and many others from the past such as Baylis!!!
I think he is just frustrated with how this season is panning out and that he may have made the wrong decision in leaving Ducati. However I wouldnt believe most things I read in MCN.

There comes a point in any racers career when he has to ask himself where his best interest lies financially, and AMA might well be the way.Hodgeson did the same and I expect he makes good money over there.Haslam has done the rounds including GP racing, and maybe realises he will never be a world champion so is looking to his longer term security?

I totally agree.

In terms of prestige (for want of a better word) and exposure I would agree it is a move in the wrong direction, but he probably had his best opportunity to win BSB a couple of seasons back when Kiyo won at the last round at Brands. I agree with the previous post, more than likely a move for financial reasons more than anything else, which would be a shame given his talent and young age. Does obscurity beckon?
