Hi

Im about to buy a second hand 2007 (07) SV650 sport. I asked the guy about any security features and he said there werent any alarms or datatags/alpha dots.

Would this model coming with Suzuki Advanced Immobilizer System (SAIS) as standard?

Also, I noticed the dealer who sold the bike new Alphadots every machine(cupar motorcycles). Is this a standard Suzuki/Cupar Motorcycles practice also? Ive checked with alphadot's website but the bike isnt registered.

Ill be checking with the dealer myself but wanted to know thoughts tonight(call me impatient) to help with insurance quotes..

Thanks

It'll be interesting to here what they say. My Hayabusa is an official UK bike from a Suzuki dealer South of the border (I'm the 2nd owner) and it hasn't been Alphadot tagged.
I keep forgetting to give the dealer a buzz to ask why it's not tagged.
My bike has a Datatool System 4 alarm, so the lack of Alphadot made no difference to the insurance. The alarm halved my premium!

Let us all know what Cupar say.

I got mine new from cupar and was not alpha dotted, it may be a recent offer they have been doing including alphadots.

Got mine new from Cupar last month, alpha dot was supplied but I'd to put it on myself, they don,t do it for you.

Mine "had" alphadots when I got it from the 1st owner. Don't know if he put them on or if they came with the bike. It was from Cupar

Mine is a Cupar machine bought 2 years ago (bugger, my warranty just expired!) and no alphadots but these things come and go.

Welcome to the madhouse by the way! :D

Mine had either alphadot or datatag when I got it, I think Suzuki did it free as a promotion once upon a time. But there's probably no tags left on it now :D

Hiya!

Bought mine new from Cupar and it had Alpha-dot included and pre-applied. When they fitted the lowers at the first service, I gave them the gloop and they applied it to the lowers prior to fitting.

I have since applied "Data-Dots" too since I wanted the DataTag electronic chips and the dots were included.

Cupar alphadotted mine, think they do it as a matter of course, and perhaps a bit of a sales differenciator.

Can you re-apply the alpha tag after waching, I have some spare from Rideon bikes where I bought mine, the picture is not my bike (Cupar bike)

How easy is it?

I got my bike last sept, from cupar and they alphadot'ed it for me. Afraid to say my k7 sv did not come with the SAIS, as I was told that its being put on to new K8 bikes.

Also got a datatool 4 and it almost halfed my insurance as well
