What was it about the Young Ones that burned itself onto our National Conciousness so brightly.

Twenty years or more later and we are still laughing at it, buying it on DVD because the box sets on Video wore out from over use.

Watched it first time as a child, late at night on BFBS in Germany and laughed so much. I understand the political jokes these days and laugh even harder.
