I'm off on a bimble round Eastern Europe with Warthog from .org and a few others in August. I have just spoken to my insurers (MCE - underwritten by Lloydes) and they will cover me for everywhere apart from Serbia and Bosnia. the underwriter wont touch it with a bargepole. I know some here (Dirk for instance) have ridden in some wierd and wonderful palces, so who did you get insured by. i'm only there for a matter of days, but I have no desire to get stuck in a Serbian prison for driving without insurance!
Any (helpful ;-) )suggestions appraciated

Just PM Dirk, on his website he's got a list of costs as well for his trip, i assume insurance is on there so that should give you an idea

Will do. It has been suggested that you can just buy insurance on the border for a week on entry - might be the easiest solution so i'm going to look into that too.

A few years ago Dr Rich went on a long European tour. He couldn't
get insurance for Bosnia so had to exclude this country from his trip.
In principle you could try asking Dr Rich for advice only I am not
sure he visits sv650.org now. Haven't seen his posts for a while.
Peeps from South & West Surfers may know Dr Rich's whereabouts.
