Has anyone tried these rearsets off ebay?

i have herd they arnt up 2 much i no looking at them they look pretty cheap looking! also herd somebody say they where no higher than the standard pegs when they put them on!

spend an extra £40 quid or so and get the GB moto ones i think it is and ther alot better looking and ther adjustable etc...

I'm very tempted by the GBmoto ones....

Also they have bearings in, which is the proper way of doing things.

Definately.

Go for the GB-Moto ones. Really good build quality, adjustable and they crash very well and the guys are really helpful afterwards just selling you the bits you need.

I got some Valter Moto rearsets from Demon Tweeks. Type 1 or something I think. They're non adjustable but being just over 6" didn't want anything too high. I think they are higher than the stock SVs pegs, also if I do need drop the bike and damage pegs ect, spares are avalible from PDQ.
Think they only cost me ?130. Just waiting for a gear shift rod from Pro Bolt to replace the shoddy black plastic thing that came with them.
Kept looking at Gilles rearsets but couldn't really justify spending ?300 on rearsets at the time!

I have Valtermotos... I'm a bit unimpressed with them, I've had 2 crashes with them- a 30mph lowside and another one where the peg didn't touch down til after the bike had stopped. In the first, the peg snapped clean off on contact with the ground- the scrape it left was about 4cm long, and the peg was barely scratched. But fair enough, parts can fail like that.

But the other was bad, the bike stopped (nudged lovingly into the side of a van) then fell over, but that was enough to slightly bend the peg and break the bushing, which completely jammed the lever. So instead of protecting the bike, it completely disabled it in a crash where usually all would be fine. Not impressed.

I also have a second set, which I think are GBMoto- still not fitted but they seem very good, bearings in the levers, no slop or play, nice build quality all round. Adjustable, too.

valtermoto rear sets seem very week if you push your foot hard down on them you can see them move/flex etc...

They aren't that good, best stick to Rosmoto or GB Moto rearsets.

I think I'll steer clear of the cheapo ebay ones, they sound a bit poo!

The GB Moto ones look good, but only fit the pointy as far as I can tell :(

Does anyone know a UK supplier for the Rosmoto ones? or recommend some other decent, but reasonably priced, rearsets for the curvy?

is the curvy and the pointy eye 2 eye hole not the same? 55mm the pointy is i think the curvy is the same is it not?


i have gsxr ones on my pointy so if the curvy is the same 55mm then gsxr ones will do or the GBmoto pointy ones.

The GB motos do look nice, but going by the pic I found of them fitted, they don't look like they will give you much rear-set!! (positioning wise, that really doesn't look any real advantage over stock!) ... its almost as if the bracket is up the wrong way too? .. the peg-to-bracket length looks very short too ...

So I agree, they look ace for the money build/looks wise, but they don't look up to much to the job in hand i.e. moving your foot back and up ...

p.s. never used the GB's so only going on what I see and I really don't see any proper gain over the jack-up plates you have now!!

So you are getting 60mm rearwards and 66mm upwards gain!! 8)

I doubt yo are getting more than 10mm with those GB Moto rearsets by the looks ;) (I'd like to know the actual numbers, I might be surprised?!!?).

I'm no racer, I like them because I want slightly higher and further back pegs, not extreme ones, just to get my legs in the right place for comfort, also the advantage of having bearings in the levers rather than sloppy bushings.

Have you got the GB Moto ones Yorkie?
Are you able to compare them with the standard ones and measure how much futher up/back the pegs go?

Well Vater Moto seem to be completely trashed in this thread :cry:
Don't know why, I love mine - rock solid, great feel from the levers & very high & back cf. stock as seen below. (but I haven't crashed them )

Just compare the peg to the swing arm.
Which is why i'm confused that you don't think the GB ones are high Blue :???: look very high on the swing arm to me in that photo :???:

Ok, I didn't realise how 'droopy' the pointy stock pegs/rearsets are!! :shock: either they are exceptionally low or the mounting point must start off higher? (yes they do, look at peg mounts relative to swingarm bolt)... on the curvy, they look like this ...

So all I can conclude from this is that even if a pointy set of rearsets will fit a curvy, even if they make quite a difference on a pointy, I am not sure with the curvys start position, they will really offer much uplift?

This calls for an experiment 8)

Oh, I liked the valter motos well enough til I fell off :D Still do in fact, they're not massively high- quite far back- but they're very comfy for me. But I don't trust 'em any more.
