Policey question: Is the presence (or lack thereof) of a valid MOT linked to the ANR cameras in the same way the MID information is?

Just curious as "my friends" expires the end of the month and "he" hasn't renewed it and "he's" not sure "he'll" be able to until after it's lapsed...

Yes, but they're really slow to update. I've had friends who've let it lapse a month ;)

Also with no mot his insurance policy will be invalid-bad news if he hits someone or gets hit himself

Your "friend" in a car or on a bike. AFAIK the fixed sites are forward facing so no worries on the bike.

But do get it sorted soon as the car based system'll get ya! Sorry, get your "friend"! :lol:

I guess your refering to ANPR cameras? Then yes.

the anpr cams link to loads of database systems within the police service

one being PNC, (police national computer) this shows on cars the detaisl on the log book ie engine number chas number, who the register keeper is, the date it was made, the full reg, the date the current keeper got the bike/car
it also shows insurance but this is taken with a pinch of salt and the police ring up insurance companys to check.
shows tax, and its expiry date,
shows mot, and vaild till date, and there systems update the same time vosa update the website which is the same day
