a while back we had a few probs with the local sh*ts trying to nick mine and my brothers bikes, threats where made and it all fizzled out.

roughly 2 years of nothing and this evening i had the bike up on paddock on the driveway going over it sorting stuff out ect, when the local *****'s decided to pay the **** whipe across the road a visit and hey ho they spotted the sv and payed alot of interest

put the bike away and locked it up.

now they cant get the bike during the night as there is 2 cars and a van in the way but im still expecting a visit so my wrecking bar has now taken up a new place of residence over the top of the stairs

what experience have others had with this sort of thing? results ect?

My advice is that you're not allowed to purposefully keep a weapon in a handy place. However, if your tools are simply laying around the house because you couldn't be bothered to put them away...

Grab anything that's nearby, not something put there for the purpose. That way when they go crying, you were defending yourself/partner & property, not deliberately attacking the scrotes.

Generally scaring them does the trick. Chances are they've forgotten what's happened in the past.

Do you know anyone with a big dog that you can tie to the bike for a few nights (the dog, not the owner)? That usually does the trick. :)

That'd break far too easily.

You could borrow the missus' katana... although she'd have my head for lending it out. :(

Case in town I police, luckily I was on rest days

"POLICE are not planning any prosecution against a garage boss for using the swords to defend his home.
Cedric Hammonds, aged 60, armed himself with two Samurai swords as three men smashed their way into his home in Cannock. "

Thinks on of the burglers was badly injured from this but the home owner was defending his property !!

Is this thread for real?

If it was me, I'm afraid my temper would have got the better of me by now and I'd be out striking first. Vigilante-style.

I don't give a monkey's as$ - my explanation to anyone asking would be that the scummy little gits were looking at me and mine the wrong way.

You may initially suffer a financial penalty for it, but jeez - just look at the rep you'd get. I'd be quite confident of not getting any more hassle.

Take the fight to them, is my tuppenceworth.

Well that's Cannock for you Shell!!!!! ;)

Mag light is s good idea especially the big 4 or 6 D cells. Then you are fully justified cause it would probably be dark and you could be using the torch to check out a sound you heard then use it to defend yourself.

Honestly orificer!!!!

co2 pistol - you can buy them without a licence and they HURT. Join a local air rifle club and pop down twice a year for a mornings bumbling around. Then when you shoot the feckers from your bedroom window you can explain that you'd got your kit ready to go down to the range the following morning when you were awoken by some kind of affray...

either that or spend a bit of money on some cameras and see what time they come. Then wait up for them in the dark & scare/hurt them big time

Had loads of problems with this before. To be honest their attention span is so pathetic they'll forget/lose interest before you've had your first swipe at them.

Get an almax chain, and a big smeg-off ground anchor, and then when you do catch them having a go, just watch and see how long it is before they give up / collapse from exhaustion.

If they collapse, then you can just peacefully tie them up :)

My security is a 6th-Dan Judo instructor. If I find someone messing with my bike, the theif gets to answer to him.

or thinking on from this idea, get a cattle electric fence current generator, connect to the bike and leave them to have some fun... according to mythbusters its like being hit in the chest with a plank of wood when you get zapped

tho tbh, its only a bike and it is gonna be insured, sure its a pain in the ass, but i for one would prefer to fill in some paperwork and go buy a new bike than to possibly get banged up for assulting a 10year old

To be honest it is not that savage. As 9 year old boys we would dare each other to wee on the fence:mad::o:).

It was always a bit of fun to have a few townies around.:-$

Sometimes you have to stoop to their level, it's the only way they understand. I'm quite calm and placid by nature but when I lived in a rough area and my bike was outside I used to have no end of trouble with the chavs. They used to drink on the corner and would eventually start messing with and sit on my bike. The first time I asked them to get off they laughed, I gave them fair warning and advised them of the action I would take if they didn't get off my bike. I followed through with my action and was questioned by Police over an assualt charge but one of them had a pen knife so it was self defence. I explained the situation and the police let me be. The chavs didn't sit on my bike again.

Thats a bit harsh mate...I hope the stains cleared nicely. They normally do with a bit of pre-soaking:p

Just kidding. Glad the coppers saw sense.

+1 on the Mag Light, after all you need to see who is looking at your pride and joy, you just happen to fumble with it and strike the chavs, hammer like on the head - One by the bed and 1 by the front door.
