My bathroom has a step and the floor is fully tiled. I got out the shower and as I stepped down, slipped. As my left leg flew across the floor, my big toe must have curled up because the one next to it took the impact as the wall stopped any further movement of my foot.
Hurt like hell if I try to walk, now it has gone black and swollen. Daughter says they don't even bother X Ray for bust toes, just send them home with telling them to take pain killers.
Should I listen to her or be a wimp and off to A&E
Off to A&E of course!!! Could cause probs later if you don't get it sorted now.

I`d advise A and E, it could be a complicated fracture. They don`t treat broken toes these days, just strap it to the next toe but I would imagine they`ll x ray it. Good luck and hope the pain eases

Just leave it. some of us do it the whole time ;)
I'd get it checked, but they'll do sod all if it is a broken toe. Broken toes three times now...

i did silimar damage whilst kitesurfing in gusty winds, got dragged toe first into a rock, thing went black and blue all over and i thought i'd broken it, but being young and indestructable i never went to the docs or anything, it seemed to all be a bit of a storm in a tea cup as it just gradually went back to normal colour and i've not had any problems since...

I've broken my toe a couple of times, first time went to A&E and they laughed at me and sent me oin my way with pain killers, second and third times I just took pain killers and sorted.
If you toe is pointing in the wrong direction then I would probably go to A&E if not then don't worry about it and take pain killers.
**I am not a doctor and if you take my advise and your toe later has to be cut off I can not be held responsible.**

I crushed mine and broke the two adjoining toes when a gearbox fell on it but the A&E just sent me home with pain killers and told me to see my GP
Should you feel the need by all means go to A&E but for me it was a waste of time and you would probably be better going to your GP and getting some really strong painkillers as mine brought tears to my eyes
