Please lock this thread, it is inhumane to rear an animal of this nature in captivity. Don't encourage this by all allowing this thread to continue!!

I wish to complain, there are these three really irritating goats that keen on trip trapping over my sodding bridge. Can I have them murdered please? :smt019

As a serious point though, hand raising large predators like this does cause problems with them reintegrating back into the wild. It is for this reason that wild animals are treated considerably different these days. Not sure that Simon King or David Attenborough would approve of this video either though...:smt102

I agree, animals like that don't belong as household pets, but just looking at the hairstyles and clothes shows the film is around 30 years old. It's just archive material , and I don't think it advocates that kind of behaviour today.

yes, they shouldn't be reared in such a way, but rather see them live like that and have a good life in captivity or in the wild if possible. than to see it put down or neglected by it's mother or similar.

That lion was not raised in an inhumane way. As others have said, he was actually rescued and given another chance to live a wonderful life. If it was not for the intervention of devoted individuals/organisations, many animals such as this one would have probably died.

Sure it isnt nice to see a wild animal locked in a cage i.e. a zoo but at least those who live there are living a happy life and being given a chance to increase their numbers. One bird (I think its the golden eagle but im not sure) has recently been taken off the endangered species list. That wouldn't have happened if some of them were not bred in captivity.
