Hello to all! I'm a newbie biker living in the Philippines. I have been into riding since 2 months ago on my K3 pointy. This site is really a big help to newbies like me who need technical stuff about bikes and riding.. More power!

Hello
I used to work in the Philippines. a place called Sual in Pangasinan. Although I have to admit to a few visits to the Firehouse in Manilla;-). I hope the roads have improved out of towns/cities enough to really use the bike.

Welcome! its great to have international people, gives you a whole new perspective on riding (like riding without speed cameras every 20 seconds)

Many thanks for the warm welcome folks! Great to meet new people on the web! :D
@timwilky, I've been to Panggasinan, nice place with good beaches... My place is in Laguna, ~30km south of Manila. We now have good roads out of the cities worthy of long rides. number of riders have increased in the past couple of years.. I haven't had a long ride yet since getting my pointy, will do when i get enough confidence with my bike and my riding. :)
@Biker Biggles. Thanks! It's still raining very hard.. In fact, we're in the middle of the rainy season so i expect it to rain everyday.. When it stops and the road dries up, i take the opportunity to ride even for a few minutes only, just to be familiar with my bike and improve my skill. :)

Thanks! speed cameras? yeah. we don't have them here. on a positive note, there's really nothin that beats the feeling of total freedom on the road.. :) But i prefer to be safe always! :)

If not for the coconut trees, i wouldnt believe that this was in pangasinan. What were the structures for?
Yeah, this is how we improved the beach when I worked there

Had some fun in Olongopo City when I was a much younger man. There's nothing like the feeling that sudden, violent death awaits round every corner to spice up your night out!

Hello Tiger 55. :)
I heard Olongapo was popular for it's nightclubs in the 70's and 80's. :) Not sure if it's still the same today.. im not that familiar.. btw, Olongapo actually means "head of the wiseman." Legend tells that it was the place where a native wiseman was beheaded by foreign conquerors. That's just a tidbit of info i'm able to share. :)

Thought that name rang a bell :). Diving 10 years or so ago in Subic Bay . and stayed I think in Barrio Barreto.......all long after the Yanks had gone home, but a few places still open......my abiding memory was yer could sense what the place had once been like. Eerie. Almost haunted.
Me I was a Nana Plaza man. Different Country. Different "war" :smt029
