if you sellin somehting and it says on my e bay that the highest bidder is private.


but on the auction there are no bids?


that mean someone is sniping?? or bid? or what?

Private bidder normally means just that. I believe it's now automatic on higher priced items. Something to do with protecting people or something like that.

As to why it doesn't show anyone bid on the item. As a random guess, could it be a withdrawn bid:?::scratch:

You can choose if you want to make the bidding private when you list the item.
By the way is this an item you're selling? Any chance of a link?
Have you tried refreshing the page and clearing temporary internet files..you may be looking at a cached page?

Ah OK... in your home page it is just telling you that the auction is a private one instead of public.

When checking if it has bids or not, make sure you refresh the cache by pressing Ctrl+F5, so that you're looking at the most up to date version of the page.
I found, when I was selling my Motocross bike, that the page said there were no bids until I cleared the cache - Worth a try
