What a day I have had.....

1st I had forgotten to charge my phone, so was an hour or so late in heading to Jambos place to do the 4k service on the Zed.

So stopped off and got oil on the way a filter having been purchased already.

Get there, look ar the service shedule and the oil isnt due for a change until 12k.

Well as I had the oil, and as I think that 12k is probably too long between changes we decide to go for it anyway.

Which goes fine until it comes time to remove the old oil filter.

Lets just say that it was eventually removed shall we, rather than list the tools that were used (successfully and otherwise) here.

So I set off to Chippenham to go camping with my mates to celebrate one of their birthdays.

3 and a half hours from Jambo's sees me there - which is not bad since I went for lovely scenic route - had lots of fun.

So heres the Scoobs moment, I park the bike at the campsite and go to book in at the office.

Yep, I'm a week early..........

I rode 25 miles in the wrong direction going to work once. I'd been working there for over a year. Didn't realise until I got to a roundabout and thought b*llocks. I then had 75 miles to get to work instead of 50. So I did 100 miles just to get to work that day.

I still maintain I'm the biggest f*ckwit.

I have quite a few of them though to be honest. I could probably 1/3 my fuel bill if I wasn't such a moron.

Ask Teejey what my map reading skills are like as well. I pack one just incase I run out of toilet roll.

Working away from home, I've set off at the end of the week. Was working in Crawley and lived in Cheltenham. 135 miles. I hasten to add I was towing a caravan as that was my accomodation whilst working away from home.

Got outside the front. It was then that I remembered, I'm married again now, I don't live in Cheltenham any more, I live in Coningsby. Total distance travelled, around 280 miles.

It was the early hours of Sat morning before I finally got home.

I can see where you get 7 hours from - but in reality it was only 5, well it was only just over 100 miles from there to home and the M4 is a nice straight flat road with no traffic - even had some fun with a guy in a Ferrari which made the stretch from Slough to the M4 Bus/Bike lane seem to take no time at all :)

Took 3 and a half hours to get there due to a lunch stop and taking the scenic route (including one bit of road that I wouldn't want to do on a Beta or KTM never mind the Zed - rear end was squirming all over the place - sincle track road with bushes on the sides and grave/mud between where the car wheels went - so either the slippy stuff or a face full of leaves.....)

Its fun to have a sat-nav and then deliberately ignore it for 15 mins and go wherever looks like fun and let it find your way out of that mess.

Actually had a fun day out, Wiltshire has some fun roads, the A361, A342 and A365 all were fun

And the best bit - I get to do it all again next weekend :)
