Hi Chaps and Chapessess ;)

We just booked our hoildays in the US and happily we fly on my birthday.

What is worth buying state side (preferably bike related) that:

a) Wont Pi%% of the Yanks trying to get on the aircraft to come home
&
b) Pi%% of UK Customs & Excise when we land

Cheers

I wouldnt buy a lid out there, I,d comsidered it until it was ponited out that even though all lids are built to the same spec if you have an off with a non eu approved helmet it could invalidate your insurance. Where you going btw ?

Good call Stewie

We're flying into JFK and then having week touring New England, Niagra etc and a week in New York itself.
We'll be looking for hotels in NY so if anybody knows of any that would receive wife approval :D at a reasonable cost that would be appreciated

We stayed in greenwich village last year at the washington square hotel http://www.wshotel.com/ but there are literally hundreds to choose from at all price ranges, pm me if you want some info, I love talking about the place:D or boring people about the place more like;)
this might help as well http://www.nyc.com/hotels/ or this http://www.nyc.com/users/login.aspx?url=%2fhotels%2findex.aspx we are going here later in the year http://www.wellingtonhotel.com/ and if you like pizza try this place http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7116744/ reckoned to be the best pizza place in nyc, its good too, but take a big appetite;) Are you staying in nyc for a night then heading up to new england or getting straight off ? if you,re staying you might want to book one of these to get you to your hotel http://www.carmellimo.com/ ours was waiting at terminal at JFK when we arrived, only cost one dollar more than a regular taxi cos of the transit laws in new york, all in all $60 dollars to central manhattan incl tolls and tip, btw tipping is the norm in new york, however the service is usually excellent anyway so you dont mind tbh.See, I told you I couldnt shut up about the place :D Also Ed recommended this place http://pescatorerestaurant.com/
