I have had my SV650S K8 Sport about a month now and done about 1400 miles.

On the way back from Matlock Bath I noticed that my right hand side bar end was missing.

When I had a look inside the handle bar it was hollow there is no rubber bung which holds the bar end in will this be under warranty.

The rubber bung will have fallen out with the bar end, they are connected to each other.

As you tighten the bolt it expands the rubber bung which in turn becomes wedged in the handle bar.

Mine and any bike I have ever seen has had the bar ends loose.

Not sure what the answer is, they dont cost much I would hope the dealer would replace them, but probably not.

Another set is that the bar end weight simply screws onto a thread at the end of the handle bar. If you have this set up then the first thing to do is use locktight on the thread, this will stop the bolt from slowly undoing with vibration.

If you have the set up above with the rubber bung then the best thing to do there is the same; a bit of thread lock on the bolts thread, however smear a little silicon sealent on the rubber bung for added security.
