So following the stag do, and worrying me half to death by not coming home Wednesday night - Phil is officially ill. And not just a hangover!!!
Had to get the GP out today as i couldn't get him to the surgery. The Dr had to give him an injection and some tablets. Said he has severe virtigo due to an inner ear infection.

Poor thing is really suffering, not being able to move with out wanting to throw up.

So I am officially Florence Nightingale! Had to take some time off work to look after him but they are making me take it as holiday which is poo.

And to top it all off, there was a lad who died in spain this weekend and it is one of Phil's friends. Its on the fromt page of Evening Herlad today and very sad.

So all in all a very rubbish time at the mo.

On the brighter side, his mood swings from not smoking seem to have subsided, thank god, couldn't take much more of that!!!

Anyway - big hugs baby, hope you feel better soon

Needless to say he is off work!! I shal prob have to go back tomorrow.

No bed bath as of yet! Managed to get him in the bath, its just a real struggle and have to have a bucket close to hand whenever he moves.

The tablets he is on make him sleepy. he is sleeping now so i get a bit of a break!!

im going to kick his ass when he is better though for not coming home wed night!!!!

Don't be too harsh on him. lol. Did you not know that, "Mother Nature" being a woman decided to inflict as much pain on men as possible......but her plan backfired......she didn't realise that by making mens pain so much worse would lead to years of grief for women......it true, really is.....

Not our fault you see that things are always so much more painful as a man. :D

Yep, me too, couldn't go for a wee without having to throw up first, didn't eat for four days. I'm just starting week three, and the (temporary) boss is not happy, but as I've got a sick note from the hospital, he can't say much.

The docs gave me Stematil for the nausea, but there's nothing that they can do for the dizzyness. The GP said that if I should get a bad headache to go with it, then I should 999 to hospital. Next day, I woke up with the headache, so off to hospital. They found that my blood pressure was up to 200/140, so they gave me some tablets for that as well.

The hospital's been thorough, I've had CT & MRI scans, blood tests (which seems to show that my liver is screwed up), heart & kidney ultrasound scans.

Anyway, the BP's coming down, I'm not feeling sick any more, and I'm eating OK, and I'm not as dizzy as I was, but it's still there, and there's no way I'm going to ride for at least the next couple of weeks. I can look at a computer screen for a useful length of time now, but I can't go out on my own yet, since I can't walk straight yet. It's like being pernantly ****ed :-(

I'll bet the doc checked his BP, because it's a quick and simple thing to check, but if not, then it might be worth spending £15 on one from Boots, just to reassure yourself. Normal is supposed to be 130 to 140/80.

Still, if you're able to look at a computer screen for long enough to post messages, then you're not as bad as I was to begin with.

The problem is that they can alleviate some of the symptoms, but since the root cause is a virus, they can't do anything about it. It'll sort itself out in it is own sweet time

Agreed. The first few days were the worst, then it got beter for a day before getting worse again. Then the doc came and injected me and gave me some nausia drugs and now I can at least sit here watchin telly and posting on here, all be it, not very comfortably!!

It can be really bad, Jax has a weak imune system and has had it for about 5 months now if I remember right. While its not as bad as it was, the moment she gets any cold it affects her really badly. This has meant that she can't work as she works in hospital theatres as there the last people you want feeling woobly.

So take it easy and done rush it else it could take longer.

No need to worry guy's I've been ok now for quite a while. Was ill for 3 weeks with it and had a bad day a week or two after I'd got rid of it. Other than that I'm as fit as a fiddle (apart from recovering from last nights frivolities!) and have been out on the bike a few times!

Cheers for everyones concern though!
