Well not a complete newbie, but I've not had my SV long (SV650s K7) and I want to have fiddle with it. Its pretty much still standard so i'd just like it to be a bit differant and am open to suggestions. was thinking of a scorpian oval can, purely for acsthetic and noisiness reasons! does anyone have one on their bike and can they tell my what they think of it? Also fancied doing something (not sure what!) to speed up the acceleration a lil bit, but i have no idea at all in this area! Have had changing the sprokets reccomended, but thats as far as i got! Don't want to spend a bomb, an the more i can do (or attempt to do!) myself the better. Any suggestions very welcome :)

Spray it white, frame, plastics, tins and wheels. Then red rim tape the wheels. How cool is that?

hmm... not too sure about that. too hard to clean. i bought a black one for a reason..lol although i will admit to already having put red rim tape on it. and maybe one or two cheesy little red lights, plz don't laugh, i think they look nice! hehe :)

Cheap option for noise and accelaration is easy, get a loud can and add a few teeth to the rear sprocket.

The popular budget cans on here are Beowulf (http://www.beowulf-performance-products.com/services.asp?service=11), CCC (http://www.carboncan.co.uk/), and Fuel (http://www.fuelexhausts.com/). All the budget UK exhausts do the same thing, no performance gain but you do lose a bit of weight by removing the standard can. You have to cut the standard SV pipework to fit a slip-on though, easily done with a hacksaw or angle grinder.

As for the sprockets, just go up one or two teeth on the rear.

Or you could scrap the cheap idea and go the full hog, see signature...

Yes, you can have your ECU remapped. However, this is to match the tuning of the engine so you will need to tune the engine first. A slip-on and air filter won't require a remap, bolt a full system and an air filter on and you will benefit from a remap.

Hope that explains it?

The reason being that you have impeccable taste :)

hehe. ta very much, mines not all black tho, it has plenty of pointless yet pretty little red bits, like grips an screen etc. it did have those little dust caps that flash red...but they really were too tacky even for me so they had to go lol

Red screen and grips?? <boggle>

I take back everything I said about good taste :D

A black bike deserves nothing but added black bits to enhance the natural blackness. The odd shiny polished alloy or titanium part is allowed to really bring out the blackness, but colours are verboten
