first of all appologies for the lack of drunken photos (belive me there was lots of drunkeness at the bikers loft) but this is why........
Regarding the overall lack of photo's, Chris took loads on his nice Nikon D80 on Saturday night. Then on Sunday as we were travelling South, the camera decided it no longer wanted to be in his possession and jumped out of his rucksack at about 90mph. In the fast lane of the Autoroute. :(
anywho......... my camera is carp, others have betterer pics than me, but here you are

He'd binned it. Not badly but just a little one I think. :-s
I'll add my photo's to here later.
I've been checking www.nurburgringphotos.com (http://www.nurburgringphotos.com) to see if there's any pics of us but there's none that I can see yet - I'm hoping some brilliant photographer will have captured me gliding round a corner on my knee but nothing yet!
Found a photo of Binky on his pillion lap with Neil!
http://images.mw-sportfoto.de/galerie/thumbnails.php?album=222&page=6 Second row down. second photo in from the right.
There's none of any of the rest of us on there - the guy that took these must have arrived later in the day. I recognise loads of the cars on the pages though!
The Ferrari Enzo that was sat in the VIP area is on one of the later on pages :king: Can't see who's driving it but it must be some rich mother.
Looking at the enzo on page 10 its one of the Black Falcon cars which is a german supercar hire/experience company.
That full carbon Zonda F they have is amazing and one of very few in the world.
There was some sort of full carbon Maserati there in white / blue. DMC said he thought it was the same chassis as the Enzo?? I'm not too good on cars! Looked pretty tasty to me!
There an MC12 in the photos above which is a maser based on the enzo, not as quick but alot rarer than an enzo.
Apparently most of the photographers take a few days to upload their photos so I'll check again over the next few days and fingers crossed we'll find some more of us!
Notice in the pic how Neil doesn't seem to lean the bike much? He looks like he's not trying at all and he never hung off the bike once....and he went round most of the lap looking in his mirrors....yet was still ridiculously fast. Big respect!
I was riding at nigh on 100% for me (through the corners, could have given it more beans on the straights) and he reckoned he was at about 50%!
A few photos I have got from the weekend:
All our bikes parked up for the night at the Bikersloft in Oostende
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Allbikes.jpg
Stopped for a coffee on the way to the Ring - note Hovis scratching his **** :D
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Coffeestop.jpg
My rear tyre prior to the trip - freshly scrubbed at 30 miles old
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Rearbefore.jpg
My rear tyre after approx 500 miles and 4 laps of the Ring - you could have fried an egg on it!
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Rearafter.jpg
A nice Ferrari Enzo lurking in the paddock - I like the bloke who thinks he's getting away with pi55ing on the tyres!
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Enzo.jpg
A nice cold beer with a big grin when we arrived back to Neil's after the Ring
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Post-RingBeer.jpg
A beautiful (double) rainbow over the M25 on the way home. This was just after me and Chris went our separate ways in the middle of the storm. I couldn't see anything through my dark visor and had to stop to change it - thought I'd get a quick photo while I was stopped!
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r397/cartwrim/Nurburgring%202008/Rainbow.jpg
Most of the rest I took were of the cars and of my bike - all of which you'll find boring!
Cheers,
Matt

I can't believe that guy only got to do one lap on his Desmo before he got pulled for the noise! Brilliant! A shame I never got to hear it at full chat - it sounded awesome even at pretty low revs in the car park

that guy with the desmo own the 1098R as well?! :o:cool:
The guy on the Desmo was from the UK. Story goes he only collected it a week or so ago and came to the ring for a few days. Bought a big ticket, but got banned after 1 lap for being too noisy :D
Think the 1098 was on an Italian plate.
Think it was a standard 1098? Not sure though. It was his mate's though, not his. He rode it all the way from England, did one lap on it then got pulled for noise cos he had the race exhaust in and wasn't allowed to do any more laps :p. Gutted.
EDIT: DMC got there first!

no Dave:D
Was the guy with the Desmo call Nick?
Not sure mate, he had kind of blondish thinning hair, salt and pepper stubble, probably late thirties, multicoloured leathers, leather knee-sliders (well used!)
(Sounds like a lonely hearts ad doesn't it?!)
D'you know him? :smt039
Nah doesnt sound like the guy I know.
The guy I know is MASSIVE and that would have been one of your ways of describing him politely lol.
He rides, or used to ride ,for PB if that helps. So i guess he's bloody quick.

PB?

Yeah, Neil said. He mentioned about PB and that he was one of very few guys who is actually capable of riding the Desmo as apposed to rich tits, who can't ride, buying them. Tom Cruise was then brought up and he rested his case with a disgusted looking smurk on his face. :puker:
PB?
Performance bikes magazine.

I reckon you'd have given it a good run-out. :p Though with almost 6 times more horses than your own steed it could have been a steep learning curve

I hope we didn't annoy him to much. Was the weather good to you???

Oh man - I missed this good and proper. :(
I'll be back in years to come though. ;)

I have struggled to even find many sites let alone sites that might have photos of us.
I have tried http://www.nurburgringphotos.com/ You have to type in your reg plate but of the plates i've tried non return any images.
Matt found www.mw-sportfoto.de which has pictures of the day we went but only has an image of me on the back of Neils bike and the photographer doesn't seem likely to add any more to that album.
The sites we need to look at are all in German. Which ones have you found Hovis???

To late, got back from work last night and spent a far while tootling through. There are only about three sites with photos of our day and only the one site with that one photo of me on the back of Neils Gixxer. :(
Tim, i noticed a lot of the sites did have many days of the " touristfarhten" but only up until about mid summer 2008. Do many of the photographers take a long time to add thier photos or are we just out of luck this time???

I'm not sure as I'vce only ben twice this year, sometimes there's a bit of a delay. One thought is that because you went on a weekday there weren't many photographers there, they tend to be present at weekends to fund their car/photography hobbies and not as a profession!
Also I've noticed a lot concentarte more on the cars than the bikes. I managed 28 laps last weekend but only found about 5 or 6 photos, if you only did 4 laps those present may not have caught you.
