The threat to Britain and the NHS from rising obesity is as grave as that posed by terrorism, a top expert says.

Durham University public health expert Professor David Hunter, who also acts as a government adviser, said ministers should be taking "bold action" now.

The threat to Britain from obesity is graver than that of terrorism? So that'll be almost no threat at all then, phew.

The causes of obesity are complex. But the solution is simple and well within most peoples understanding.

Stop stuffing, start exercising.

I was cuttin gabout in Glasgow at a recent event (fair ground) and couldn't believe how many fat people there was, I think that the fair ground must be some sort of a haven for the junk junkies with all the candy floss etc etc.

Scotland is the new florida, could of course have an earthquake just below south carolina and cut off FLorida al together. probelm solved?

People need to read this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Live-Dangerously-Should-Worrying/dp/0230712215

The average person's perception of risk and actual risk is entirely unrelated. That's not, "quite different"- they bear no correlation to one another for the vast majority of percieved risks. What's more dangerous, cycling to work through central london in the rush hour, without a helmet, or making the same trip in a car? Going by car is vastly more dangerous (for every year of life expectancy lost due to cycling accidents, you gain 20 through the increased fitness).

Likewise, motorcycling is not the oft-quoted 16 times more dangerous than driving if you don't ride like a tw@.

My other half uses one for the same effect and to ensure he gets his food quota for the day!!!!!!!!!!
