Assuming you mean the renegade exhaust system they did a high and low level one for the 99-02 bike. In either case the thing to be most careful of is that suitable clearance is left for the chain so it doesn't hit the exhaust every time you go over a bump. Over tightening the chain is NOT a suitable work around for this;)
Best of luck

any advice on fitting twin rene's 99 curvy
Don't, added weight, no power gain, overpriced for what is a bodged up stock system,....
Other than that, yeah what Jambo said.

am i right in thinking - off with the tie downs on rear frame - and the hangers bolt onto rear frame ?

p.s. still got my ART can and high lev link pipe if i dont like the twin set up
Gaz - if you are keeping the pillion pegs, you will also need some spacers - this pic of my old ones might help:-

Just to be fussy, technically you have two slip-on exhausts as the downpipes are OEM Suzuki.

Jesus Dave, OP only asked for tips with fitting HIS exhaust and not if anyone can tell him why, they only have bad things to say about Renegade And who cares about 'technicalities' anyway
About this expensive 'slip on endcans', how about we break it down. How much are/were they new from Renegade again ?
Anyhoos Gaz, re chain stuff, it's not a biggie....just adjust the chaing as it should be. yes, it'd hit the down pipes every so often but it's not really an issue....unless someone runs 3 inch slack on their chain :D
'P' clip stuff goes on the rails where bungy hooks are. Line everything up and tighten.
You don't have to take the front down-pipe out but need to loosen the nut a bit to be able to swap the modified mid-pipe with the standard.
Careful with removing the nuts on the front down pipe. A few folks(including yours truly hehe) have had problems with them. Impatience is you enemy lol .

just have some sheet metal and line up your cans and you'll see what you need to make-my ixils came with the fitting kit but surprise ,they didn't fit -had to make my own brackets from the rails down to the can hangers-same as you don't take a pillion and never want to so got rid of the rear pegs.
Think a bike looks more balanced with twins on-performance , weight etc aint gonna matter-its your own preference-enjoy mate

Dave clearly is not impressed with them, and I am sure he has his reasons. I paid about £650 for mine in 2001/2 I think, and thought they were worth every penny

did your stand catch on the pipe, if so was it all right ?
It happens to some, due to inconsistency in the build. Just double check that the exhausts are mounted correctly and even, then triple check the stand is secure when in its most raised position.

I had it on both sets of my twin renegades on my sv650's.
I ALSO had it on my gsxr-1000 twin can rene set-up. Go figure.
It was fine though.
