Well my sv packed up again yesterday, so investigated last night. After fighting with the rad to get at the front spark plug for about 3/4 hour, I gave up & decided to drain my carbs first to see if the inevitable may have happened.
The answer was yes, the carbs were full of water AGAIN :smt092. I pulled the tank off & drained it & once again found this

I was livid, telling my Sv what a pile of Japanese rubbish it was & if it didn't sort itself out it would be sold. I never had this trouble with my old one. When I went to refit the tank, I found the problem.

I have now made the hose longer so it isn't kinked. Started her up last night, ran her for about 15 minutes, to the neighbours disgust & went inside when all was well.

Came to her this morning, started fine on choke, pushed her outside, selected 1st gear and rode about 20 yards before it died :smt103 I thumbed the starter over & over & now she is parked outside my house with a flat battery :smt092 I am slowly losing my patience, but it will be fine when she runs, cos I just love the sound :)
What a prat I looked jumping in my car in a full set of leathers this morning, the lady at Tesco must have seen the look on my face because she never said a word when I went to pay for my petrol. Probably p*ssed herself laughing when I left.:-?

Here is my last thread on it. Yes it is a bad thing, luckily it wouldnt start at home on both occasions, so not too bad, could have been worse & done it half way to work.

OOOOOH INTERESTING. so is the cure just to stick a bit of wd40 down it? not got round to looking under the tank yet.

Replace with a braided hose, it won't kink.

Although I would say the main cause is the routing of that pipework!

Yes I think it was since I cut the battery box to fit the ZX6 shock. I will try & re route it I think
