Looks like the culprit for cleaning YCs bike is closer to home.....see everytime Maria gets off she cleans a bit more of that back wheel;)

Well 2 and half hours.

National Tyres in Crewe were very helpful NOT!. Upon arrival they had not got the BT16's they said they had when I phoned earlier. They had BT14's or BT21's or a set of Dunlop Super Sport's.

What they also did not have was a working paddock stand! They wanted me to strip the rear speedo assembly down so their Motrax piece of junk would fit and then when I showed them how they would be unable to remove the rear shaft with that in place they ran away to their office and peered at me thru the glass..............

{Probably when I suggested that they would end up witha £600 plus bill if/when they dropped it all on the rear swing arm}

They did not have a front fork stand at all................

Eventually I googled Earls Motor cycles in Crewe who gave me the number of a guy called Steve who lived outside Sandbach. Steve runs a motor cycle tyre business out of his back garden he had Diablos (but only a rear) and a full range of Bridgestones/Dunlops.

So off we went to Sandbach where he fitted me a pair of BT16's and re balanced and valved the wheels for £194.00.

First few miles were fun pi$$ing it down with rain on new rubber fully loaded (no working rear brake)and in traffic dodging lanes from one roundabout to another but we were eventually on the motorway which got really busy until we hit the M6 Toll. Rain backed off somehwere south of Cannock and the new tyres had 120 miles on them by the time we pulled into Brackley.

I still wonder how far I would have made it on the Rosso. I am amazed at how different (better) the Tuono feels with the BT16's. The shape of the front tyre is quite different to the Corsa III I had on the front before and the turn in is so much lighter and more controlable. Steve the tyre man showed me a Corsa III that he had but could not use on the T. It had a big P on the lable............ he advised that it was only suitable for Kawasaki's.........

Look at the weather in these pictures, glorious sunshine while we drunk tea and coffee. Apparently the waitress at this stop quite fancied me, whatever the case it was funny watching he grab all the red hot bits off the coffee machine with the occasional Oh and Ah as she kept burning herself.

This was also the stop where a new change of underware was needed for Speedy Claire when her peg hit the ground going round a right hander.

It was all meant in good humour and I've stuck my neck on the line hoping they both see that too, if they don't then I'll run as fast as I can. As you can tell I was taking pictures of anything and everything and just stuck them all up. A couple were intentional, but the majority
weren't.

The Commando Statue at Spean Bridge memorial looks out onto what was their (the Commando's) training ground during the dark days of 1940/41. It's basically the Northern foot hills of the Nevis range of mountains. Presumably Ben Nevis is lost in the cloud somewhere in this compendium of pictures I have photoshopped together.

I am ashamed of myself. Some rider of an awfully slow rattletrap old diesel tractor cleaned my bike, I stopped on the way out of the campsite to return the favour by spinning the back wheel up in a very muddy puddle and I missed the puddle! I have never missed a burnout opportunity before! Gutted!

I've got a video to post, but they take ages to edit. It doesn't show speedo, or reg plates in readable detail.

Yep riding on heels or with the arch of the foot on the pegs, so his feet stick out loads. It was quite noticeable when one was "cornering enthusiastically" as Seggons' feet were nearly dragging on the ground all the time.
