I bought the bike as it is now in July 2007 as I’d been overseas for three years and I needed a smaller bike to be able to afford insurance (my no-claims had lapsed).
It has a professionally installed 700cc conversion kit that has upped power by 16bhp. It rides and handles better than most SVs due to suspension upgrades. I think the SV650 is a good bike to start with and this one is 200% better than standard.
Comes with V5 document, 2 keys and I can confirm there is no finance on it. It has a new MOT (from 19/8/08) and is currently on SORN. Extensive history including old MOT's, receipts, sale documents, etc. are included.
The engine parts (700cc big bore kit, Stage 2 cam kit and ignition advancer) were all bought from JHS Services, who specialise in SV modification, in 2004. Fitted by a professional motorcycle mechanic 7000 miles ago and fully dyno'd, making a healthy 84bhp at the rear wheel. I have receipts for the parts and work carried out and copies of the before and after dyno charts.
Full M4 exhaust system with removable baffle.
Kais conversion on the front forks
Fully adjustable (ride height, preload, high speed damping, low speed damping) Technoflex shock on the rear - this bike corners like its on rails.
The tank and front mudguard are standard with no damage. The tail piece has been sprayed all yellow to remove the black rear panel under the grab rail and has two small cracks above the tail light as shown but this is nothing major. Custom yellow matching undertray. There is the odd light mark and stone chip here & there but no damage. It has Renthal handlebars and black fly screen (the screen is not fitted but is included in the sale). Optimate charging point under the rear seat.
The engine casings which are normally in very poor nick on SV's are excellent but the fork stanchions are “furred” at the front.
Diamond race rearsets fitted. Rear footrests currently removed but included in the sale.
Full set of braided brake hoses.
The bike has a brand new Bridgestone BT21 on the rear and a half worn BT14 on the front.
I'm asking £1250 which seems a fair price to me. If I don't have any interest here I'll put it on Ebay but I'd have thought that people here will have a better idea of what all these upgrades will give you.
Cheers,
Ewan :D
