Hi All,

I have a quick question and if anyone could give advice that would be great!

Got some insurance quotes through gocompare.com and the cheapest one by a long way (only £181 when my renewal was £350!) was from a company called Quinn Direct. I've never heard of them and wondered if I should be aware of dodgy companys out there? Had a look at their website and it looks pretty professional.

So basically I wondered if it's worth paying a higher premium for a well known company rather than a cheaper unknown....

Thanks in advance!

It's a different company, but I took a risk on a company I'd not heard of before (Highway) as they were significantly cheaper than Bennetts who I was with previously. When I needed to claim (admittedly from a 3rd party rather than them) they were good as gold, fine about mods and I stayed with them for 3 years before finding a cheaper quote elsewhere.

Quinns are quite well known I thought.
I know at least 5 people insured through them, though its car insurance.

Supposed to be alright, my mates never have problems getting hold of them, though none have had to claim.

Quinn are an Irish insurer (they also manufacture stuff!) and to date I have had my company liabilty and employers liability through them. They seem to organise themselves pretty well and no probs to date.

Ah cool, thanks for that guys, I went with them in the end, really pleased with that price! My old insurer rang me up this morning and it went something like this:

-Hello Sir, I'm just ringing to inform you that your bike insurance expired 5 minutes ago.

=Ah thanks, but I found a cheaper quote so went with them

-How much did you pay, as I'm pretty sure we could beat it?

=I'm sure you can't

-Go on...try us

=£181.

-Have a good day sir.
