How’s this for stupid, forgot to put sidestand down on the bike before I leant it over in the car park this morn. Didn’t realise til it was too late and started to topple over, just had to lay it down as gently as possible. R&G crash bungs really do a great job, not a mark on the bike! J

I was once cleaning my bike, lent over the oppoiste side to get a bit I missed...and pushed the bike just off its sidestand enough for it to roll forward and fall over. I too layed it down as gently as possible and let the R&G's work their magic
I was on my CB400SF and put the stand down, but not all the way, leant it over to put it on it. Before I realised it was not down it was too late, and trapped my foot under the bike as it went over.

yep done the 1 mile an hour lay down. Riding down an unadopted road with huge potholes and gravel. Lost my balance and put my foot in one...that contained a pond much deeper than expected. Full tank of petrol, had to lay her down, and shout for some nice bloke to pick her up. Suzy got a big scar on her fairing for that, i'd only had her a week...needless to say I've never done it again!
P.s Charlie..you coming over to Squires tonight?

Done far worse than that, cleaning the bike, start it up as I've almost finished (bearing in mind, my bike doesn't have a sidestand switch), rev it let the clutch out forgetting I've left it in gear, weeeeeeeeeeee off we go!

was putting my old honda on the paddock stand once and over she went in the garage. As she went down I shimmied round the side to try and stop it, ended up half trapped underneath 210kg's of cbf 600. Only a few marks on the fairing but I managed to end up with loads of cuts some how

Way hey, join the club. I ALWAYS look now to make sure. :(
At least you got away with much dmg...
went out for a run managed to dodge fallen branches and debries on some twisty roads, threw what looked like mini lakes, got home went to put the sidestand down kicked it into first gear instead and droped the bike. made mental not to ones self, "turn off bike before putting side stand down".

I have done this as well.. I've dropped it at 0 mph on wet grass too, also had numerous in gear letting clutch out moments.
Wah, done that many a time. Did it a hundred yards from home at the start of a trip to France and it landed on my leg. Not only did I not put the stand down but I still had the engine running and the bike in gear. Not the best time to try and get off.
I dropped it (nearly) a few weeks ago. I was at the air pump at the garage and was rolling the bike forward to position the valve. The stand must've caught a bit on the ground because when i leaned it down it carried on until the handlebar had punched a nice hole throught the front of the air machine !
Unfortunaltely i was on the opposite side from the stand and a combination of the handlebar lodged inside the machine and me leaning back like a racing sailor keeping his boat upright just about stopped the bike listing further.
I was there for a few minutes before a passing carrist helped me pull it up.
As no one from the petrol station could be bothered helping I didn't feel too bad about the damage to their air pump, and promptly rode off!
The morning of the AR I swung a leg over the bike and caught the bedroll that was across the rear seat and kicked the bike over, but not before managing to leap over it with all the grace and elegance of an arthiritic gazzelle and lay her down on the drive letting the crash bungs do there work, then knacked me back badly enough lifting her up that although I made it to the AR I was unable to actually ride the route, until I got a phone call and had to ride home anyway with the aid of some painkillers , weve all done it.

dont very similar with my zxr, I put it on my ABBA stand to remove the sidestand to clean it up a bit and steam clean the rear swinging arm area...
took it off the abba stand and dropped it strait on its side knowing full well i'd just removed the sidestand... what a penis.

in my young days pulled up outside thr shops trying to look cool on me dt50 put my foot down got it caught on the kick start and promtly fell over lol
Lost my balance once whilst doing a u turn, dropped the FZR600 on me. Took half an hour to 'wiggle' out from under it!! Trust me, we all learn from these 'mishaps'......

the couple of times i've done it i've always tried to stick a leg under it on the way down to help with the 'laying it down gently'. hurts the leg, but helps the bike!

just as i pulled into my drive tonight, riding towards the garage door my foot clipped a black rubbish bag and got caught in the plastic strip loop which keeps the bag tied shut... nearly pulled me off the bike into the wall... ffs

i'm glad i'm not the only one, but also glad no one seems to have hurt themselves doind this trick. i'll be trying not to repeat this again for a long time, sure i've pulled something trying to lift the bike. in the end saw one of the other guys across the car park and called for assistance, should've taken the topbox and luggage off first really.

Dropped my Bandit wheeling it out into the road. Had the side stand down ready to put it on it and as it rolled backwards it went into a groove in the road (so it rolled faster) this put all the weight away from me and all I could do was let go of the bike and let it fall in the road.
Main reason I let go is I didn't want it to catapult me onto the road.
. . . but not before managing to leap over it with all the grace and elegance of an arthiritic gazzelle

done something similar to ming outside the garage. Stand was not down properly so it started to go, caught it and like you had to lay it down on its bungs. Again no damage.
