That's a looker and no mistake ;)

What's that shock protector thing bolted to the swingarm that you can see in the exhaust pic? I don't have a hugger (yet) but I'm thinking that's a good idea that you have. Is it home made?

It's a stock part. Just a little flap that bolts to the swingarm. You should have one on as standard.

Colour isn't to my taste (I'm not keen on yellow and bought black) but looks good!

IMO if you're going to paint the underseat panels you should also paint the black bit in between the seat sides.

Although I always thought they should have colour matched it anyway!

The previous owner of my SV had a hugger. My flap is missing (!)

Now I'm on a mission to make my own.

I've got a spare (I've got two) if you're after one.

There's bound to be someone here who's got one or check with one of the many breakers round.

Get a good belly pan

Add heated grips so you can ride all year round

Look after it - give it a good clean when it needs it, service things like the brakes at least once a year, keep the chain lubed and other moving parts lubed aswell. I hate it when I see a nice looking bike, then get closer and find its got a dry, rusting chain and things like that

As for suspension, try progressive fork springs from someone like hagon (£60 ish) or ohlins (£80 ish). Rear shock from hagon is £255, or ohlins at £450....

Great colour :D
